Deal is complete, papers signed, deposit paid, 0% financing for 3 years (!!!). On dealer's advice, switched to industrial tires. Dealer will help next year if I want to switch back to turf tires. Great dealer cooperation. They have one in stock, but are ordering one for me. Should be here in 4 - 5 business days - by the end of next week, for sure.

Got it! It's great! It was delivered about 5:30 PM. Dealer's guys went over it thoroughly. We had a little time before dark to play with it. Tried the rotary cutter - it's going to take a little adjustment and seat time to get it right, but I couldn't believe how well it did. Tried the loader - it's going to do everything I want. I'll try the box blade tomorrow. Play time!

This was my son-in-law's camera; the image was huge and didn't resize well. I currently live about 1 hour from the property, and the dealer is located about the same -- when they called and said they were heading out that way, I ran out the door without my camera. I'll get better pix tomorrow.

OkeeDon,

You got yourself one nice looking rig there. Take good care of her and she will treat you back real nice. Yes and posts more pics when you get a chance.

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( Since the TC18 has a loader, if I experience weight problems, I can always scoop up a bucket of dirt for balance. I could run the hydraulics off a remote, but the dealer suggested I simply get a longish hydraulic hose and plug into one to the loader lines to run the forklift. )</font>

Is this possible? To scoop and hold dirt with the loader while using the forklift without a remote /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif?

Jus' wonderin'.....

Mark

PS Congrats on the new rig!

Well, to scoop, lift and curl with using the forklift might involve some mighty fine quicksteps with the hoses. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Seriously, I don't expect a problem, but even if I use the curl function of the loader to lift the forks, I should still have the lift function for the bucket - might not get a bucket-full. On the other hand, I haven't tried it yet.

I've already decided to get the one remote that can be installed on the TC18.

Played around some more today - major embarrassment. Just to prove I'm a real newbie...the tractor was delivered with the rotary cutter installed. We wanted to switch to the box blade. I didn't know how to disconnect the PTO shaft... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Finally found the release pin and got it off, but I'm glad no one knows about it. Oops - this is a public forum, isn't it - too late.

Stopped at the local oil supply company, signed the papers for off-road diesel (no road tax), bought a 55 gal. drum-full, and bought the fittings, filter, hose and nozzle to set up a gravity refueling station. Works slick. The drum's up on a stack of cement blocks temporarily until I get my barn built, then I'll set up a little fuel house.

Tomorrow, the fellow who's doing the rough clearing will be there with his big Cat 436 loader/backhoe and the big brush rake. I figure I'll chase him around and nip at his heels like a chihauhau.

Wow! 55 gallons of fuel, I haven't used 55 gallons with over 100 hours on the tractor.

Filled it the first time at 3 hours, but in the dark, so I probably didn't get a full fill. Filled it again today at 12 hours and the guage went higher, confirming I didn't get a full fill the first time. Now 15 hours on the clock. At this rate I'll be doing the 50 hour in a week. Found a hydraulic leak...2 fittings on the FEL were loose at the joy stick. Lost 1/2 gallon before I noticed it - was dripping on the ground, but some got on the brake pedals and that made me notice. I tightened them.

Also, power steering works great to the right, but is not working to the left. Looks like a call to the dealer on Monday - we'll see how good his service is. Unless somebody here knows what it is and can tell me how to fix it...
