We are using spray to kill overabundance of wild privet hedge, trying to get to the deeper woods to clean between trees. Unfortunately, there are many huge trees/limbs (2-6'diameter) laying on a steep incline (spread out) that need to be burned, in the midst of the trees. Can I do this, with hard woods around, without having too much heat produced? need advise--the county agent was clueless and everyone else wants big money.

You have not described how big an area you are dealing with.

You will have to skid out the downed trees with your Deere, then burn them in the open.

Be sure to elevate end of timber at tractor end, so it does not hang up on a boulder or other type of impediment, causing the tractor to rotate/pivot on rear tires to vertical in one second. I have experienced this exciting event personally, once, never want to again.

Do not even think about burning in the woods.
