Mahindra 1626
Hello all new to the tractor world. Got a 1626 over the summer it has about 8 hours on it. I must have hit the lights with my knee and killed the battery.

I put it on a tender for 28 hours and the tender shows green.

It won’t turn over. Just a clicking sound when the key is on. It doesn’t even try. I took screenshots from a video I took. One shows the dash lights that come on.

The other one shows where the clicking sound comes from when they key is on.

Next step I guess is to buy a new battery. Any ideas would be appreciated

Some batteries will never recharge if totally dead. Put a tester on it while trying to start and see if voltage drops off drastically.

I would check connections… especially ground and then attempt to jump start.

Maintainers work as long as there is something to work with.

At the dealership standard practice was to charge on a 30 amp charger and then load test… some would read proper voltage but the needle fell with load applied.

A maintainer may show green after a mere 28 hours because the voltage is up, but it's unlikely that that battery is actually charged.

With such low amperage it may take weeks to charge the battery. If it even truly accepts a charge after being drawn down that much.

A load test, or using the method mentioned above, will tell a lot about the battery's wellbeing, or lack thereof.

A dead battery can take a long time to charge depending on the charger. Maintainer not so good.
If you don't have a good battery charge, very minimum 6 amps, you need to get a new charger preferably a 3 or 4 stage charger.

Whenever I get the “click” its almost always my starter solenoid. A couple light taps with a hammer or large wrench and it starts right up.

I once "woke up" a battery that had been discharged to where it read "0" volts. I used an old manual 40A battery charger.
I had to scrap the battery because it would quickly discharge when trying to start my old MF T030.
I've never attempted that since, it was a huge waste of time and effort.

Not sure whether you bought a new or older tractor, but might want to check and clean battery terminals and the ground connection. If it’s been sitting for a while might have some corrrosion

I would think the battery has not reached a full charge.

Supposedly a lengthy charge time with 1 or 2 A is the preferred method for starting to revive a low/dead battery.

Smart maintainers can be fooled into charging by momentarily hooking up a good battery to the discharged one.
