Got word from the dealer Friday that my 4310 shipped on Friday. It is on the truck... so now, an attempt at patience.
So I would like to sign up for membership in about a week to 10 days /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
The info here is great.
I am getting the 4310 MFWD, eHydro, 430 FEL, 47 BH, iMatch, Rotarty cutter, and 5' Tiller.

What should our club motto be? Work or fun? I won't tell, if you don't!

Re: 4310 wantabes

"I will be interested in hearing about why you are so sure the 4310 will be next..."

Mike,

First off, it is green. I'm sold on JD given my success with the 755.

The 755 has been a great tractor but there are times when I would like a little more oomph. Primarily when doing FEL work. With only a single 5.6gpm pump, it is a little slow. I would like more lift capacity both in the FEL (700#) and 3PH (841#, 24" back). The 3PH is fine for my attachments but struggles with the horse trailer and the dump trailer when it has a load in it.

Without a step-up in power and capabilities, it would not make sense to get a replacement tractor. There is nothing wrong with my 755 and it only has about 1200 hours on it. The 4115 would probably make enough of a difference in many areas except for the 410 loader. It has only 100# more lift but less max height and reach than the 52 loader on my 755. The 410 would probably operate faster though given the added pump capacity of the 4115. So the 4115 is a step up but not a big enough one.

Next step is the mid chassis 4210, 4310, 4410. The only thing that is driving me to the 4310 over the 4210 is the availability of the 430 loader. The difference in price is worth the added capability. The 4410 offers nothing over the 4310 except 3 HP. Not worth the $1800 increase in cost.

The size of the large chassis tractors is a definite disadvantage for my needs.

So that is why I'm sure the 4310 will be the next one for me. My concerns with the 4310 are its added weight as it will be used for mowing the lawn. It is certainly maneuverable enough but may be a little heavy in the soft areas during the early part of the mowing season. I also do not like the fact that the rear PTO must be running when the mid PTO is used.

Howdy all. I'm also in the group of 4310 owners (4310, 430 FEL, and a bunch of odds and ends of attachments). I've got a specific question for the 4310 owners who currently have backhoes. Right now, a backhoe is a bit pricey for my pockets. However, I'm hoping in a few years to be able to add this to the tool kit. I've looked at both the 47 and 48 hoes, and am aware of the differences in reach and lift capacities. My question has to do your on-the-ground experiences for those with 4310's and either 47 or 48 hoes. Is the 48 hoe oversized for the 4310? Does it push this tractor around too much? Are you able to lift/dig/reach everything you would like to be able to with the 47 hoe? Any comments on capabilities of the 47 and 48 hoes matched with the 4310 would be much appreciated. The quotes I've gotten from our dealer (Barnett in W. Washington) put the 47 hoe about 2-2.5K cheaper than the 48, I want to neither under-buy, nor over-buy given the large investment a hoe represents.

Thanks in advance.

Hi JEA, I have the 47 BH and so far it has done most all that I’ve asked of it. As far as size and suitable for the 4310, I would say it’s a good match. If I'm not careful, I can easily toss the tractor around while using it. I baby my tractor, (I dont think I’m alone, so please dont laugh /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif) and theres been several times I have really worried about puting too much stress on the tractor while using the 47 BH and thought the 48 BH would surely have been too much for her. But to be fair, a more eperenced operator using the 48 BH would probbaly cause less stress on the same tractor. I also keep the BH on the tractor when not using rear attachemts and the lower weight of the 47 is prefered. When I made my purchase, the 47/48 BH was a very hard decession but I think, for me, the 47 BH was the right one. Good luck.

Does anybody have a line on an aftermarket source for a tooth bar for a 61 inch bucket on the 420 loader?

The name of the manufacturer for both of the toothbars I have is FFC (Farmer's Factory Company) in Lee, Illinois. You may want to peruse their website at www.ffcattachments.com. The standard toothbar on my 4in1 bucket was $266 for a 72" standard toothbar. See pic attached.

You may want to contact my dealer who is KC-Canary, Fultonville, NY. Talk to Mark Brucker at 518-853-3405 and he can order for you and have it directly drop shipped to you or your dealer for install. You would have to provide exact inside measurements of your bucket.

Rocky... I am a proud owner of a 4310 and suggest we exclude 4710 owners (just kidding rancar)... I have owned her (it) (her) for about 1 year now. My biggest regret is that I live about 3 hours away from where I use her!
As far as satisfaction... I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase, everything has lived up and/or exceeded my expectations!
Besides being totally satisfied with the tractor (430 FEL, 48BH, and MX5 Rotary cutter... the dealer has been the best experience. I have had minor problems including fogging instrument panel and siting FEL joystick... the dealer (KC Canary in Fultonville NY) has taken care of everything including onsite service! Right now I have about 70 hours on her... and am just getting into my second season! She has surpassed all of my expectations and so has the dealer!
My advise to anyone looking for a new compact tractor:
Look at em all (Orange, Green, Blue, etc.) then look at the dealer... make your decision based on "if you have a problem who will take care of it" not only price!
I love GREEN and have the best Dealer (K.C. Canary) and that makes the difference!
My opinion Green Rules... but only if the dealer RULES also!
