Great to have you!

( Should be getting my 4310 in about a week. First task I need to master is rotary cutting (brush hogging).
)

Actually, that's number two. First is a good wax job, so she'll clean right up after the hoggin.... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I've never been much of a joiner but I think that I really should get in here.

I'm new here, as you can see. I never knew this site existed until I already had my tractor decision made. My 4310 was delivered on Jan. 10, 2003, the same day that we closed on our house. I never even considered anything other than a John Deere. I don't look down on anyone that owns another brand. I just personally prefer JD Green. Anyway, I don't have the land area to justify anything bigger than a riding mower but I miss the farm so I had to have a tractor.

About 20 years ago I had a 1050 JD w/fel, 5' rotary cutter and a tiller. I thought that that was a super tractor. This 4310 blows that tractor away! The 4310 is smaller, lighter and a couple less horses but the hydraulics are awesome! The first night that I had the 4310 I came in the house after spending a couple of hours with the new to---y---ol. I told my wife that this is the greatest toooool that I've ever owned. I have 190 hours on it now and I am still impressed with this thing. I don't have the hydro that everybody seems to like. I got the power reverse model. The owner of the dealership didn't even know that he had one. He says EVERYBODY buys the hydro. Hey, I'm not rich, $1200.00 is a nice chunk of change. I have no regrets. The power reverse works great. It is possible to go from the time you start the tractor until you shut it off and only use the clutch once. I don't use it that way, but it's possible. Much easier than the 1050 to operate.

Anyway, I would be proud to be in this club, the 4310 is an incredible machine.

Thanks for listening. Bob

At last, I can say it again -- OH, BOY! OH, BOY! WHAT A GREAT MACHINE. )

I took a hard look at the eReverser, which I thought was great value for the money. Very easy to operate -- especially going from forward to reverse -- once you mentally thought about how it worked.

In the end, I went with the eHydro because it would be easier for others to learn to operate. Just had these visions of somebody running through a fence because they tried to operate the tractor like a car in a panic situation. I figured that was last thing I wanted to worry about when others were volunteering to do my work for me!!!

Congrats on the purchase.

Club4310 Info-mation

The big reason for calling our humble organization Club4310 as opposed to ClubMidSizeGreenMachines, or something; is the apparant popularity of the 4310. Of course we all appreciate the other fine Deere CUTs (even rancar's 4710... /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif )

So, I hoped to spice up conversation, ansd spur some who have not piped up and joined our ranks, with some cool figures that demonstrate the popularity of our clubs namesake.

Well, even with google on my side, I don't have any such cool info to share.
Maybe some other member (or 4710 owning quasimember) can share such information. Or at least a baby-in-a-bucket shot.

BTW, Mrs. RR is in the pregnancy thing, this has NOT caused any loss in tractor hours for her. She is very particular in her admiration of cruise control, motion match in the "soft" position and the seat set "soft", too
