John Deere lawn mower - anniversary editon "silver"
John Deere weed wacker (industrial strength) - yellow
Weed Eater weed wacker (lightweight for the wife) - green

i would like to think that tractor owners are loyal to their particular namebrand because that brand has served them well. now, i love my orange b2400, BUT if it was a clunker i would be most happy to tell the world. ithinks most of us are that way be it tractors or cars, or whatever. can't imagine someone sticking with anything that was nothing but trouble!

All I see is BLUE. You mean there are OTHER Colors?

I had a Minneapolis Moline Big Mo 500 that was Lemon Yellow, but it was anything but a lemon and when it came to work, it was not Yellow!!!!!!

Well Bob,

Actually in the color-wars area of tractordom, you are the exact opposite of color-blind........Color-blindness in tractors means you only see one certain color, which ever one is your chosen favorite. The other colors do not exist on the same level as your choice, hence there is only one color in your world.......which then makes you color-blind!! I know from the outside looking in my definition does not make sense.........but kick back and let it soak in a bit,and you'll soon catch my drift.

Colors aside, I think the only person that needs to be satisfied with your choice is you.

Having recently purchased my tractor, it had nothing to do with color. If this tractor was purple its merits, features AND the dealer customer care satisified the bill. I looked at all of the brands and made a concious decision to get what I did. And I am satisfied with my choice.

Well, looks like you got me there, 28Red. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Actually I'm an Operations Manager, a job that comes with a bushel basket full of hats and sales is one of them.

Never gets boring though. Get's about everything else at times, but never boring. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It`s curious, but...

The more I hang out around here, the more I understand that all tracdtors have value and the less of a brand-specific snob I become...not that I ever was one... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It has become clear to me that all operating tractors have value. [/b]

I can think of one gentleman here who sometimes seems to be sensitive to comments about gray tractors. I now realize that he knows how useful a gray market tractor can be, and how cost effective the purchase often is. Rather than being negative towards the bigger brands, he probably means to emphasize the good he sees in his gray tractor.

To like a brand tractor that has performed well for a person, and to make a recommendation based on good personal experience or on the reports of others does not have mean that that person is saying this color is good and all others are not.

Can it be true that Lots of folks struggle to understand how anyone can logically decide to purchase a color other than theirs ?

Somehow I can`t believe this. Some folks, well yes, they may feel this way, such is life. But I would like to believe they are a minority...

Am I out of touch with reality?

Interesting observation, Henro. Now that I think about it a moment, not quite sure how to quantify "Lots". More than "some"....less than "most".....more than "a few".... less than "many". This is getting confusing!!!

I caught "lots" of fish today /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif, about 15 from a lake that probably holds millions.

Anyway, back on subject, I certainly would agree that we're talking about a minority of folks here. Guess my perception of "Lots" is a little different too. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I can understand why someone would purchase their particular brand(its not rocket science),its what they like.I have a John Deere and my next one would probably be a John Deere, but I know Kubota "rocks" New Holland/Case/Massey and Agco and the others are worth consideration as well.
It is like Chevy/Ford/Dodge,I would drive any of the 3 as long as it got the job done.
