Colors: Perception is Reality

Most of the 'brand wars' that start on TBN are caused by one of three things, IMHO /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

1. Someone stating their opinion as fact.
"Brand X tractors are too expensive."
"Brand Y, Model Z tractors are too small."
Opinions are not right or wrong, however they are not facts, no matter how many times someone types them. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

2. Someone posting incorrect information (facts) about a brand.
This is usually corrected pretty fast via a check with the manufacturer's web site.

3. People thinking that 'just one more post' will convince the other person they are wrong. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I think you are mistaken on this and hope you re-consider your position. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I know I could sound Greene through and through. When I was shopping, I was pretty up on all the colors that made my list, But, after purchase, I have quickly lost most of what I knew about the others. When I have tried to talk intelligently about them, I (rightly) got shot up on my errors. So I try to talk about what I know (greene). I know that there are lots of great options by other makes. And I do NOT believe that ALL are just as good in ALL Areas. And SOME are better in SOME areas. But SOMEBODY must like em, cause they bought one.

Certainly no challenge from me there, Mike. IMHO Green is one of the colors that helps establish benchmarks all tractors are measured by.

Whether or not it's the best value and fit for a particular situation can only be decided by the individual buyer.

Intended use may also affect a person's color perception. I'll probably put about 200 hrs / yr. on my tractor. Would I have bought the same one if I planned on 2000 hrs / yr. instead? Maybe...maybe not. I've got to ponder on that one a few minutes.
