The solenoid is ok. There is a blown fuse, that blows immediately when a new one is installed. I suspect the timer is bad. Temporarily, I installed a momtary contact switch on a bracket under the steering collumn, and fed it directly from the battery to the switch, to the solenoid, with a fuse inline. Better than a pull cord wire hanging out of the hood, until I can find, test, and replace if needed, the timer.
