I like and know gear drive stuff... this is my first hst I have owned.
It'll grow on you over time... very handy in a small machine. Couple of added thoughts, considering. First, keep the engine revved up. Not much hydraulic flow until you get it above about 1/2 throttle. Will happily run wide open all day although 2/3 throttle seems to work well for most things. Second, that foot pedal is a bit counterintuitive. While you use it like the gas pedal in your car, it really controls the "gear ratio" of the HST, going from neutral to high gear. So when the engine is working hard, you back off the pedal rather than flooring it as you would in a car. That's like dropping into a lower gear.
