They, in the past, named an entire continent of first nation people, mistakenly, as "Indians." .., and we still do, and for some reason, the ingenious people, still also follow the convention.

No problem is akin to de nada (it is nothing) in Spanish. Other languages have similar responses to thanks.

You all makes perfect sense. It clearly defines that the speaker does not mean the singular individual in the conversation, but the group of people to which they belong. Y'all is just a contraction of that. All y'all is redundant.
