Compact right for me? Thinking of a new Deere.

If you don't have to worry about trees then the only real concern with a cab is that it does move the center of gravity up a bit. Stay on sane slopes and that won't be a problem. If you do go with the cab make sure they set the wheels wide and load them for you. That way it will be as stable as it can be. For me personally, I would love to have a cab but between the trees and my tendency to mow really steep slopes I don't think it would be a good idea. I'll have to stick with an open station even though that air conditioning sure would be nice when the temperature and humidity are both in the 90's.

Hey, all!

We’ve made our decisions! We are getting the cab version for $22,900 plus another $300 for spacers, which the dealer will put on and also fill our tires. Another 200 for delivery (it’s fair considering distance and hills between us). We pay no taxes because we are farming. I feel like we got a great deal on a great tractor. I can’t wait for delivery: looks like next Wed.

I’m SO SO grateful for all your input. It was crucial in giving us confidence for this significant purchase. It will have a 10-year or 3000 hours warranty on the power train, but I’m sure I’ll be back with questions along the line. THANKS again! You all are great.

Congrats! Is the dealer offering an enhanced warranty? According to Yanmar's site there is a 5 yr 2500hr powertrain warranty...

Nope. Yanmar recently upgraded its warranty to 3000 hours or 10 years on the power train.

If getting mfwd you might consider beet juice ballast in the front tires for more stability, lower center of gravity.

I just can’t believe how good a deal you got. When the time comes for me to buy a new tractor I might private message you and find out what dealer you got it from and then tow it over the mountains to Virginia. And a 10 year 3000hr warranty too boot!

Congrats!
