Compact tractor height for crops

What do you guys do in regards to weeding larger gardens with compact tractors? The ground clearance is not enough to clear potatoe stocks for example. If using a cultivator for example.

Use a larger tractor with more ground clearance. People used to use full sized tractors for crop cultivation before herbicide-resistant crops came along. That was the whole reason tricycle front ends were developed, they fit between rows. Later on when tricycle front ends fell out of favor, (2wd) tractors with wide front ends were used. You typically got about 18" or so of ground clearance with a 2wd wide front end tractor, which was enough to clear crops that were still short enough to need cultivation. Taller than that and they'd shade out weeds themselves. If you need more clearance, there still are high-crop tractors available with tall skinny tires like sprayers use.

Some mentioned the Farmall Cub others commented on its lack of power. Step up to the larger Farmall Super A or Farmall 140. Even has a little more ground clearance than the Cub. May cost a little more than a Cub but still a great tractor for cultivation.

No I has mentioned the best truck gardening tractor yet the Allis Chalmers G;
1948 Allis-Chalmers Model G
If you want to buy new, not restore a vintage tractor...
