Thank you for reply guys.
I know that bigger is better , but have some issues:

- I'm using compressor occasionaly, so, big tank will be a waste of energy. For me, 100 liter (about 28gal) is acceptable size, as it can be transported in personal car (no PU-s here)

- It is close to impossible to find good, used one here /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

So, I "hit my eye" on 16.8 cfm, 130psi, 3kW/4hp, 3 phase 400V, single stage, 2 cast iron cylinder compressor with 100 liter/28gal tank (rounded on pic).
Price: about 700$

Will it be enough?

Is the 16.8 cfm at 90 psi? If so, that will get you by for most air tools. You may have to take small breaks in between if it doen't. I had a small 5 hp like that once with a 30 gallon tank. It could not run a dual inline body sander or a DA without me stopping to let the compressor build up air. I had bought it from Snap-On. They took it back no questions asked.

It seems that 16.8 is intake flow. Flow at 90 psi is secret data, and is not possible to find it anywhere /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

This is biggest pump attached to 28gal tank. Bigger ones are double stage, but with 56 gal tank.

BTW, what means CFM? We use here liter per minute or cubic meter per hour.

Cubic Feet per Minute. Sometimes it's seen as SCFM (Standard Cubic Feet per Minute) that we use instead of liters per minute.

CF = cubic feet => 28,32 liter

Do you have 3 phase 400 volt electrical service to run it?

I purchased a 5 HP Quincy with a pressure feed oil lubrication system and a oil filter. It wasn't cheap to say the least, but I know that it will outlast me and the next person to own it without any problems as long as it is properly cared for. You can't beat the Quincy for quality when you purchase there industrial grade air compressors. You get what you pay for .... if you want the best, it will cost more, but in the end, you will save money...

Yes, of course. We have 230/400V (single/three phase) 50Hz network.
All electrical motors at my home (except cement mixer) run on 3ph network, including smallest of them, on corn sheller (on attached pic).
Biggest single phase motor possible to find here is 2.2kW (3HP), as on compressors too.

Hey, JUNKMAN, exactly which Quincy compressor model did you purchase? I'm looking for a replacement for my Ingersoll Rand 5hp, 80 gal. tank, once-in-a-lifetime purchase unit that had approximately 80 hours on it before one of the rods broke and destroyed the pump /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif- this unit was only 12 years old at the time. If I thought I could find a replacement pump, I would go that route, but after many hours of research, I've been told numerous times that this unit was a "price leader" (at $1100 when new!) and that particular compressor line was sold off to Devilbiss, Porter Cable and any one else like a 2-bit wh*** /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif.I'm afraid if I find a new, quality pump, it will burn out the motor and really p*** me off. If I get a new complete unit, does anyone want an 80 gal. tank with a 5hp motor and mag starter? B.R.O.?

I have a Quincy QT-5 I believe, but I believe that they have since changed the Letter / Number sequence some. Here is a picture of what I have. If you want to get rid of your old unit, I am very interested in it for another project. Where in CT are you located? Is it an upright or horizontal? PM me with the details.... Thanks Junk...
