Ya lesson learned. I built another small outbuilding to put implements in and I sheeted it with that OSB. I could have bought metal like I used on the other one for the same price.

Ouch. It’s like $15 here and I’ve been complaining because it recently doubled from the $7 a sheet.

Remember when it was all over the news, all the people that were going to move to Canada when Trump got elected? Well you better bring a giant stockpile of American money with you, or you are really going to hate it here, LOL.

Well sadly, luckily for you not many of them followed up with that threat. The current exchange rate is 1 cad is worth about 3/4 usd. Other than the OSB board how does the other non building material stuff compare? Advantec is about $30 a sheet here.

Just off the top of my head I just did a 16 by 16 single slope implement shed and it was $550 for just the brown metal and screws for the roof.

The one that burns me right now is fuel. Barrel is down to $45.59 and our diesel has not come down at all. Our regular gas has come down to $1.09/L but fuel was still holding $1.32/L
So multiply that by 3.78 roughly and you get your price per US gallon.

And garage packages.....for a standard 24 by 24 finished exterior, no insulation or interior, one big door, one man door, one window, slab (you do groundwork) is about $18,000. And that's nothing fancy.

Lots of people still buy building materials from Menard's in Michingan, pay the exchange and taxes and have it delivered into Canada cheaper than we can buy it at home here. And it's Canadian lumber, LOL. (I've hauled it over there from our mills, LOL)

Most of our lumber here is Canadian. And it’s a long way to Canada from here. And I’m still complaining that diesel hasn’t came down any and is still $2.88 gallon. Diesel peaked at about $3.10 gallon and I put my diesel truck on only when needed status. It was tough seeing a quarter and a nickel gone with every roll of the odometer wheel. But anyway how’s that “free” healthcare?

Funny the things you never notice until you notice somebody else talking about them. I've got an old shed here with an old style corrugated tin roof, no insulation. I never paid any attention to the drips on the riding mowers and other things in the morning until I read this thread a while back. Now it's one of the first things I notice when I go in there before the Sun dries things up.

There's another one..."free health care." What do you get for free? Well most people that go into our hospital don't come out alive. Between the malpractice, the neglect that they like to blame on not getting enough money from the government, and the near steady outbreak of flesh eating disease everyone catches in there.
The city I live closest to just built a brand new hospital. Closed two and amalgamated them into one. A whole floor has never been opened because it is full of mold.

Anyway....back to the awesome shop and condensation talk.

The exterior metal was $2.30 plus tax. Interior was $1.99. I think all the spruce I used came from Canada.

Paystar, attached is a recent ad from a local Amish Builder. Within the past year the price is up from 4950, lol! Of course, no slab, no window.
