Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

Just got word from the owner that they were in a new facility with 41,000 sq ft under roof, 2 1/2 acre paved and in addition 60 office parking slots and 15 offices inside. He said in addition to the current product lines, that a new line of quality dirtworking products are just around the corner--Congratulations to "First Choice" and keep up the good work----Ken Sweet

Re: Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

Now if they could find someone to sell their products in the Western Pennsylvania area that would be great.

I tried my best to buy some of their stuff last year but with no success... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Glad to hear they are doing well...

Re: Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

Henro,
Same here, when I tried.
They gladly gave me a list of dealers in Central Ohio. I called every one of them(8), only one dealer had ever heard of them and he was 80 miles away. He had just recieved his first shipment and it was all still "out back" and had to check his invoice to see if he had what I wanted. A simple 5' box blade. "Don't know I have one in this load or not. Can't tell from this invoice".
I bought locally, wasn't worth the trouble for me. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

In manufacturing it is difficult to get distributors and dealers without pushing out one of the suppliers that is presently being sold. After all, how many of the lines are just duplication of another line? It isn't like dog food where the is a taste difference (no I have not sampled it, but my dog has). Shipping is another expense that is difficult for manufacturers to deal with. If they are shipping a complete tractor load, it is easy. If the manufacturer can get two dealers in close proximity, then they can split the load for the shipping savings. If they have to ship just a few pieces LTL (less than truckload) it is very expensive. Personally, I think that manufacturers should deal directly with the consumer in areas that they don't have representation and split the price somewhere between retail and wholesale in these instances. That is the only way that they are going to get their products into use in any one geographical area that they don't have distribution yet. It is a huge incentive to the local dealer to consider adding the line to his inventory, because otherwise the dealer is going to loose the sale entirely. Some manufacturers will sell directly to the customer and then send a "spiff" check to the local dealer for the first one or two sales to give them more incentive to consider the line. Manufacturing is only a small part of the equation of success.. Marketing is the bulk of it... the Junkman

Hi Bill--We already have that covered. We shipped 4 pieces of First Choice equipment to NY today and was competitive on the price, even with shipping added. Of course, no sales tax was applied. I feel we can fill the needs of you guys in Pa untill your local dealers can order in Qtys large enough to get the franchise and volume discount pricing that helps keep the prices down.--Ken Sweet

Zanesville has First Choice Attachments

Re: Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

The dealer that I called in Zanesville was the ONLY dealer (of 8) that had even heard of First Choice equipment. He also was the one that had not even looked at his order, after 2-3 weeks of it "sitting out back". Had to check his invoice, and could not tell from it whether he received a 5' box blade or not. He told me to call his father, who sold used equipment up the road. I drove 20 mins from home and bought a new one, not First Choice though.

But anyway, congrats to First Choice /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Congratulations to \"First Choice\"

It is good to see that First Choice is moving into the old Coke-Cola building in Wilson. CCM is announcing today Oct. 7, 2003 that CCM will be purchasing factory direct and selling retail to the public the following lines: Fort DMD 2000 Disc Mowers, Sicma tillers and Finish mowers, G&S Sicklebar mowers & Cosmo Fertilizer spreaders. These products will carry the MFG marketing labels. CCM will also continue to offer our premium line of products branded with our CCM label.
We thank TBN members for the added success they have given CCM to increase our sales and product lines.
