Considering the 5065E

What year(s) were the nightmare tractors?

I think the two I had were tier 2 and 2013/14s can’t remember. Constant trips to the shop. The earlier OOS one liked to melt the fuel tank and had brake issues like mine. One of mine had to be split twice in the first 150 hrs. Not sure how much was dealer and how much was product.

Interesting. I have a prospective buyer for my 2615 coming tomorrow so we will see how that goes first. Thanks for all the input.

I was leaning towards a MF 2607H but after looking at the 5E series that's where I'll likely spend my money as the value just isn't there for the MF when their financial price is less than $2500 from what I'm being quoted, and the Deere would even cost less without the PowrReverser which I definitely recommend. I had a chance to look at a 2018 5045E and it's definitely improved overall. Wish it still had the step on the right side but the pre-18's are a pita to get on and off on the right side with the loader remote anyways. Still the newer model has better ergonomics with more leg room and the foot throttle moved out from under the brake pedals.

I said this in another thread I made. The 2600H seems like a good cash priced tractor but their finance price adds thousands to the cost of the tractors which makes is not look like as good a value when compared to some of its competition. The Deere just has too may extra features to justify the MF when they are priced that closely IMO.
I have always been a massey man myself.grew up on them.but they are becoming less and less it seems every year while the price keeps creeping up.i honestly wasn't considering a Deere until I dropped in one day on a whim at James River Equipment and got a quote. Salesman told me JD make this series to change people's mindset of Deere affordability.

Agree on the Massey Seems they lost reliability when they started manufacturing in India on the 2600 series. A lot of people had bad experiences with them I got a 2015 Massey Ferguson 4608 that was manufactured in Japan which that's why I went with Massey but my brother has a 2009 5065 and it's been a good tractor but has its flaws. Would I buy a 2018 John Deere 5065e?? Yes I would but the Massey would stay on the farm also

I also really want the power reverser option, but massey makes you step up to the 80hp option on the 4608 before you can get it.they also accomplish the 12x12 with 6 gears and 2 ranges, while JD offers 4 gears and 3 ranges.never had anything that fancy so not sure which is most desirable.i really just don't want 80hp just so I can have a power reverser basically.

Guy that came to look at my 2615 never called back even though he said he would let me know one way or the other.pisses me off when somebody says that.just don't say anything at all if you don't want it.so basically I am waiting on a buyer for my 2615 massey Ferguson with l200 loader, loaded tires,2 remotes, and 700 hours if anyone is interested....☺

"I'll let you know" = You will never hear from me again
"Have to check with the wife" = You will never hear from me again
"Once my cheque from so and so clears" = You will never hear from me again

Maybe you stated it elsewhere, but did you try to trade the 2615 in?

It's hardly worth dealing with people. I traded a piece of equipment I could have easily got more for private sale just to avoid dealing with people. Your time is worth something.

I talked to the John Deere salesman about coming to the farm and looking at the Massey and giving me a quote for trade in.I just figured he wouldn't want to give me much for it.we will see how the next few months play out financially speaking and go from there.

We have a 2017 5085E with loader. There are some better machines in the range from other companies. M Series is better but these E-series have Chinese front axles, loader castings, noisy hydraulics, and some other annoyances like very small starters compared to others. It would be nice to lift and curl vs. lift or curl the bucket loaded. Ours is definitely better than our 2010 unit is though. Good resale and parts support vs. others.

I'm not for or against anything really. They seem to be mixed reviews on every color machine. I'm happy with the machine I got but there is some annoying things with it also. I just remember what I used to use back in the day so I'm glad with what I'm using now
