:laughing::laughing:
I like that one!:thumbsup:
Every piece of equipment had factory installed smoke. The preference is not to release it.

In 30 years of custom industrial controls I have experience in the release process

I have a helmet sticker (motorcycle) and it says "If it has tit's or tires, it'll give you trouble"
That works with just about anything with either of those :laughing:
There's much to be learned from helmet stickers.

I hear that... I heard a quote some years ago that reverberates every time a project turns into a problem-solving venture that went something like: The lord does not lift our burdens but gives us the strength to overcome them. I'm not a particularly religious person, but it stuck, and keeps me plugging away instead of breaking more things in the process of getting things done. I figure a day of stacked up crazy, time-wasting... half the time or better, my own lack of PM related--truth be told... is a reminder to be grateful I still have the wit, will, and opportunity to struggle, persevere, and overcome. Nothing like changing the oil and deciding you better jack the motor and replace the pan before it lets loose... resume builders for skills and character.

Sometimes I thank God that He blessed me with numerous tools and enough talents (maybe just barely enough) to productively use them for myself and for others.

I do most of my own work on things and have a nice collection of tools to get it done. A few years back, my wife suggested that we have some newer vehicles and enjoy life more instead of working on things constantly. I still have things to tinker on, but really enjoy using my tractor, mower, truck, etc without having to fix them. I still do the regular maintenance, but don't have the big stuff generally. If the budget would have allowed it, would have done that sooner, but we have lived within our means on one income, raised 3 daughters...

We all have days when in order to finish the job at hand we first need to fix two or three more first. When things go sideways like that I step back and look at the big picture, and how much work and how many things I'm able to do that would be impossible or take forever without the big power tools like tractors, chain saws, hydraulic jacks and porta-powers, winches, etc. Then I stop to remember all the screwing around that results most times when I try to get help from a "professional" that ends up costing more and taking longer than if I'd just done it myself. And then I survey my kingdom of Craig's List rescues, all of which needed extreme R&R before I got a lick of work out of any of 'em, and am grateful that by the sweat of my own brow I don't owe a cent to anyone for any of 'em. And finally I consider how much easier it is to repair or maintain the tools than it is to do the job with a shovel, wheel barrow, paint brush, or other by hand techniques, and somehow life doesn't seem bad at all. :laughing:
