Correct weight oil for Kubota Grand L

Mobil Delvac 5w-40 synthetic is what I use in my B3030. It is available at many auto parts stores that carry Mobil products. Mobil also sells the same oil in quart bottles and labeled as a Truck and SUV oil. I don't think you will ever have an oil related problem with any brand as long as it is labled for your use and is changed at recommended intervals.

I use Redline 10w-30 in a BX23. It is rated for diesel. Redline is a group 5 synthetic oil. Very high quality, but very expensive. Advanced Auto Parts carries it. See the attached spec sheet.

I have always used Rotella T 15W-40 in the BX22. Last winter we had isolated days of temps down to 0-10 F, but I wasn't trying to use the tractor then. I had no trouble starting it any of the days I used it. I have a Ford Diesel automobile I use the same oil in, so it has always been easy to only stock one.
I may use the synthetic 5W-40 in the L5030 (no need for oil change to-date). I will be more likely to use this tractor in really cold temps since it has a cab. I might even switch the BX to synthetic for better lubrication.
Is there any reason to wait until later oil changes to go synthetic, or just do it at the first oil change (50 hrs)?
Thanks,
Terry

I certainly wouldnt put it off till later to switch. I like to START using..what I will ALWAYS use in a "vehicle". If the engine runs "X" miles or hours on "Y" brand of oil...I figure its gonna keep on running "2X" hours or miles on it..or 3X..or 4X.

If I lived in a warmer winter area where I KNEW it was never going to get cold..I most probably wuldnt even use a SYN oil...15W-40 ( good brand) will let it run its full life.

The label on the Redline 10w-30 synthetic container states: "Not for break-in of engines - allow 3000 miles". I don't know if that is the recommendation for other synthetic oils. I switched at the 100 hr maintenance. How long does it take to drive 3000 miles on a tractor?
