Cost of Propane

We are still looking to build and haven't made a heating choice yet. In the area we are propane is the main supplier followed by natural gas and oil. I guess my comfort level is with oil but sure don't know if it is the most economical choice. Sure makes me want to check out supplemental solar and whatever else you can do to cut costs.

If I had to do 3-4 a gallon I'd be having a hard time sleeping.

We'd hang the wash out on the line even it it was freezing. The pellet stove would be working overtime and cooking in the oven would be offlimits. The microwave would be cranking. )</font>

This reminds me of the rumor about the featherless chicken that researchers once bred. They soon found out that it cost a lot more to keep the chickens warm and alive than any amount of savings from eliminating a step in the cleaning process.

2.29 at u-haul to fill the bbq tank. 2.50 at the local gas station. woulda spent more in gas to drive to the cheaper place to get my 8 gallons (2 20 pounders full, each take 4.5 gallons if empty, one wasn't empty). I would certainly hope that those of you who buy in bulk get it for less.
