Speaking with a few Realtors in our area(country) they have stated houses being sold in our area are only on the market for 1-3 weeks. Is this due to all the folks fleeing the city life due to covid 19.riots and protesters?Anyone else seeing this pattern ?

Been hearing here that some don't even last 24 hrs. and getting more than asking price is not uncommon. Really makes me wonder if now might be the time to sell
my place as retirement is near, but wasn't planning that for another 5 or so years. I'm in NE Wyoming. Social distancing here is easy!

Same story here. People fleeing Memphis. Existing selling quickly and new houses/ subdivisions popping up everywhere. I知 needing some concrete work in my driveway and the go to guy around here is 3 months out due to pouring new home slabs.

I have been seeing reports of people fleeing some of the major cities. I saw one report that the storage companies are over run with business because a lot of people are putting their belongings into storage and going and searching for houses in "safer" areas. They want out so bad, they cannot wait to find a place. But what I don't understand is how they can monetarily abandon their housing in the "troubled" areas unless they don't actually own anything there to begin with, and were just renting. Perhaps I just answered my own question. So I guess the housing owners in these "troubled" areas are just going to take a real beating then. For sure monetarily, and maybe even physically . :)

I need them to stay in the cities. I left the city 25 years ago, but not for any of those reasons. I've adapted mostly to rural, but a lot of escapees won't. They'll want to bring the city with them, and all of the issues. They'll want city services and no cows or goats to make funny smells.

The current real estate market seems to be in a "gold rush" phase. Super hot market if you are a seller. Homes just outside suburban areas don't stay on the market long in my neck of the woods.

I can't speak to the big picture, but I have several nephews buying houses now, and it has nothing to do with riots.

Interest rates are low and renting prices are high. For anyone that can manage the down payment, it doesn't make sense to rent.
