Those type of things will not happen around my neck of the woods . . . you can only divide your property into no less than 5 acres . . .

The problem isn't the size of the lots. City folk could buy ten (or larger) acre lots and build mansions, but then would want city services like door-to-door trash pick up, city sewers, noise abatement (no tractor noises before a certain time), no animal smells, no chemical spraying, yadda, yadda, yadda. Get enough of 'em hollerin' together, rules get changed .....



I never understood the appeal of stacked matchbox living (apartments, condos, townhouses). I never even considered living that way. Single family homes 20' apart was way too close for me.

Sold my mother in laws house in San Leandro, CA. very fast, had 1 offer on the same day, then 3 more the next day, all of them for more than the asking price, accepted an offer the morning of the 3 day on the market. Never thought it'd be that fast.

During the previous housing boom a local farmer put up a huge sign on the edge of his property saying something like, "This is an agricultural area. If you choose to live here, there will be noise, dust, and spraying associated with farming."

I suspect they had issues with people building houses right next to a corn field and then complaining about the farmers.

They had the same thing happen on the waterfront downstate, when developers started putting in condos there. I don't know what came out of it but they were trying to restrict the loading/unloading hours.
I suspect we're going to start seeing the same thing soon up where they just put in a National "Monument" in an area which has always been working forest. Guys like to start work at 3:00 in the morning, and you can hear a harvester cutting for miles.

Pinehurst NC. I bought land and started building, then virus. Bailed out of stock market, it痴 at new highs. Sold my house in 2 housers, 3 bidders, 5% over list. Now real estate is setting records.

Nothing makes sense .... although it never did.

The market in our area was this way starting at the end of last year. Realtors were on TV saying that if you wanted to buy a house, it couldn't have any stipulations like a home inspection! NO WAY would I buy in that situation.

Speaking with a few Realtors in our area(country) they have stated houses being sold in our area are only on the market for 1-3 weeks.Is this due to all the folks fleeing the city life due to covid 19.riots and protesters?Anyone else seeing this pattern ?

Also seen flex in new home owners in our area and I hope they don't decide to bring lot city ideas also whining with them for this is country living where you might be with out power for couple days+ from ice storm or day before they plow the road etc. etc. I do fear we shall see our property taxes increase because of the new buyers.

Heard that peacefull protesters were threatening people to leave their homes. Possibly in LA? That wouldn't help property values there any.
