crab steer issues on d

i had a c without any major problems and switched to a d for the better ride (bad neck).

i find that my crab steer does not stay aligned very long doing any real work with the d. after 30 minutes removing sod with the bucket the tires were a good 40 degrees off alignment. anyone else looked into this. everything else seems to be working as it should.

I think the problem is exacerbated by heavy work...ie the harder you push the TC the faster/worse the problem is exhibited. Not cool.

I have a service manual and I was going to check to see what the adjustment mechanism looked like but haven't got around to it yet.

most surely covered elsewhere, theoshin, but was the change worth it? is the d better riding and better at pushing?

a local has a c series that keeps doing the same thing - its in and out of the workshop and i'm not entirely sure they've resolved it. my c has no great dramas thus far.

if i tool around with the 90 inch mower or forks no big issues. only when i dig or put a heavy piece out front is when i see it. digging is the worst.

the d is much better riding - if the c is ok to you for that then i would not switch. i have a bad neck and wanted the better ride. it is sig better off road. the c is more simple with solid axels and most likely will provide a bit better reliability; however, things like overheating have been improved on the d with the new fan so it may be a horse a piece. the c was quieter (i wear earplugs with the d) as the engine is below the cab on the d, but i really think the better ride was worth it for me. it also digs better; however, i got the larger lug tires vs the regular turf on the c and that probably helps quite a bit. the other thing i notice is i can get deeper into a pile before i loose traction. if i were to buy now i would get a 5600. 25 pto hp is just not enough for my uses. i can see the advantage of the pto; however, i bought the tc to not have to look behind me (bad neck again). that is what i like - look forward all the time. also, i use the sprayer on the back and like to add wt which is easy with the dump box. 3pt attachments are a heck of a lot less expensive to buy. i really would like to hear how the 5610 does which a 7ft brushhog running pto out back in 5 ft high weeds (crp type cover). no perfect machine for every use!
