with a phone call from a customer service rep and a couple hundred bucks' worth of kit, they've managed to make me pretty much dismiss this as something that's not worth worrying about.

I think you will find that with the support in place you can expect years of excellent service from this strong capable loader. The KL120/KL130 design has been improved with the new torque tube design but the basic performance is identical to the older version. A lot of us have/had this loader and it has served us well.

mowog,

From what I can tell, the kit looks pretty beefy, and I suspect it will greatly strenghten your loader. Just be careful how you use it before getting it installed (knowing what happened to mine, I wouldn't use it at all until the kit is on). And after installation, make sure to keep the bolts tight, as the design appears to be largely dependent on those clamping bolts. I'm glad Kioti stepped up for you.

Hi Mowag, am just now catching up on TBN. I am so sorry to read your comments about the tractor. I had no idea the loader had cracks. I did remember reading somewhere that it was not a question of if but when. Things happened so fast with you and the new tractor I haven't had time to check in to TBN. I hate reading about this problem. It seems like something I should have known and had repaired myself. Anyway, I read through the thread and there seems to be light at the end. I will hopefully get the things I promised you on Tuesday when the 4 in one bucket arrives for the DK50 and get it to you over the next week or so. R.O.

As far as I'm concerned, mine failed. It bent such that there was about 2" of unlevel from side to side. Made it almost useless when trying to get a level back drag or scrap up a flat load. So, don't do any more digging with it until you get the fix installed.
Thank you for posting. Some good discussion of possibilities as well as factual info supported by the science of cracks, stress risers and fatigue has disappeared from the thread based [apparently] on contention with your real life failure situation. Just maybe its more due to the fact that a critical component is badly designed and cant be fixed without redesign. So a heavy rigid band aid has been applied that only allays the problem. The advertiser cant stand the truth? ... and you are denied it.

Here we go again :confused2:.
As soon as Neil chimes in, this thread will be complete.
BTW, I have 400+ Hours on my "defective" KL130, and, after checking beneath the plate today, have no "Catastrophic cracks".
I must be one of the lucky ones.:D

@Di2hunt -- no worries and no need to apologize, I wasn't expecting to get a brand new tractor and as far as I'm concerned this is a total non-issue! I'm fixing it for zero cost and an hour or two of my labor. I just picked up the kit yesterday and got a few installation tips thrown in for free while I was there. :)
