Thanks Rob,

The dozer was giving me issues with massive amounts of blowby. The turbo was bad also, but even after replacing it, the oil was still coming out of the seals. I stalled and tried everything I could think of to avoid a rebuild, but in the end, that's what i have to do.

Number six cylinder is toast. The rings are busted in multiple pieces and wore the sleeve out. Number five has allot of taper too. Way too much. One through 4 would have been ok, but since it's apart, I'm replacing all of them.

Most of the rebuild parts came in and the macine shop has what he needs to finish the head. I pick that up Thursday with the rest of my parts. Then the rebuild begins. Right now everything is cleaned, oiled and ready to go in.

When it's up and running, I'll get back to the lake and update this thread.

The dozer is up and running. I put 15 hours on the engine doing fairly easy stuff like scraping the roads. It's running really strong and smooth. Hard to describe the smooth part, but it's definiately there.

The power is up too. It spun the tracks before, but now the engine doesn't lug when that happens, it just sort of keeps powering through what I'm pushing or moving!!!

The picture is of the lake site after sitting undesterbed.

The vegitation has to be scraped off before the dirt for the dam can be dug. I don't want anything that can decompose in my dam.

I'm also burning again and trying to do multiple tasks at the same time!!

There are still a few trees that didn't make it to the burn pile. Here is a picture of my backhoe with my attachment that I made for hauling trees and brush that doesn't use any additional hydraulics. I call them bucket fingers. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The burn pile is way too big and has allot of dirt in it from pushing 7 acres worth of trees into it with the dozer. It's something that builds up just a small amount with each tree. You push in thousands of trees, and you get allot of dirt.

I can get the fire to burn real nice, but then it goes out from the dirt piles underneath. Then I have to move it around and start another fire.

If I knew what I was doing, this shouldn't happen, but my Dad and I are more eager than expert. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
