Critters captured on camera

I got a shot of this Red Shouldered Hawk sitting in the trees by our field last summer. Today I heard crows all around me cawing like they were going to attack me and I quickly slid out from under my wife's van that I was working on to see them chasing this Hawk all around the sky and trees for 20 minutes before he moved out of the area with the crows in hot pursuit.

This whistle pig used to live under the cement front porch of the house we purchased behind us to remodel to turn into a rental. We blocked off the holes under the porch and then he moved under the neighbor's shed. He would often come out in the morning and evenings to graze in field we were reclaiming to munch on the new greenery that was now growing there only to return to the shed when someone appeared. My dogs killed one of the groundhog's pups that had got too close to their territory last summer. Molly (boxer/lab) has also taken out a raccoon a few years ago with the aid of a Corgi we used to have. Funny thing is, the local fox can walk by and they won't pay it any attention. Raccoons, opossums, squirrels, birds, strangers, neighbor dogs and cats get close and our dogs turn into killer beasts, but they got some kind of peace treaty with the foxes.

We have a place in western NC that is pretty remote. It's beautiful up there. We get to visit on the weekend and a few years back we noticed bear sign around the house. It had knocked the cover off of our well, mauled our bird feeder, eaten our charcoal and lighter fluid...?, and pressed his little bear nose all over the windows. I deployed the game cam and caught a few shots...

Bears, deer and cyotes are in the back yd. regularly to get the bob cat pic. I live trapped him by accident trapping straying dogs that come to chase every thing.

Here is my picture of a Great Blue Heron, caught him while fishing early one morning. It seems alot of animals are not as spooky around humans when they are wading down a river.
