I was parked in the sun the other day and realized that I have L,M,H and N indicator lights on the dash to indicate what range the tractor is in but I've never seen then illuminated. Do I have a disconnected wire someplace?

Thanks all.

First light I've seen on the dash was this weekend.. I was running the brush hog, and noticed the PTO light was on. I didn't see it at first, so when I noticed it, I thought maybe so etching was wrong..
I'll look for a gear indicator next time I'm there.

Dang iPad spelling/word choice.

Fred, it's a 2012...I think. If you take a maglight and look at the dash light position on the right top, opposite the glow plug, battery, etc on the left, you should be able to make the out. There's an L, M, H around the top and an N beneath. I looked underneath at the base of the levers for contact switches and first I thought I saw one, then I wasn't sure I wasn't mistaken. It's hard to see. If there is one it's over the hydro and if not, I'd like to get one!

Lockport;

I looked at my service manual and it shows the dash layout with three open circles on the right side and not identified. I am assuming that these dashes are stamped out and are used for many models. Other tractors using the same stamped dash layout may well have lights to signify what gear the tractor is in. Mine however does not have this although I too can see the three circles on the right side of the dash but they are not used.

It's not an issue for me as my tractor stays in the med gear 98% of the time.

Double checked last night I to have the lights but they have never lit.

Same dash panel is used in 3&400 models and Kiotis. The CT1xx & CT2xx use a switch on the treadle pedal for neutral start so no indicator switch on the range lever. Kioti and larger Bobcats use the range selector for neutral start safety, so have the indicator switch.

I'm guessing those lights, at least based on what was posted here, are not used on the open station models. My CT335 cab has those lights and just about every dash light works contingent on what's being used, e.g., pto, cruise, etc.

GKM, do you know if your range lever is similar to CT2xx series? I wonder if that switch could be retrofitted?

I believe they are...probably need switch for range lever assuming wire loom has connections at for dash lights.

Interesting. The Kioti website shows the dash panel for the CK35 HST with those indicators illuminated.

The lamps work on my DK35se.. now for some more interesting info.. Deadong does not use a switch on the range selector lever to illuminate these lights.. they use a bellcrank that turns the shaft of a 0 to 2000 ohm potentiometer. There is 5 volts placed on the high side of the pot with ground on the low side. The wiper of the pot then sends a varying voltage back to the display module that depends on where the pot wiper is in its arc, then the cpu reads this voltage and decides where the range lever is placed and sends out the voltage to light either the LMH or the N lamp. Yep I ain't lying, this is how it works. Nothing like a complicated solution to a simple problem huh?

There are indeed a LOT of disconnected wires. I posted these pix years ago, but there
are 15 unused indicator lamps in the display. They all have bulbs and the wiring on the
circuit board seems to connect them to the connectors. That's where the wires end.

I removed a few bulbs and shined a light thu to see what the symbols were, and most
were a mystery to me. You can see 2 of them on the right side of the second photo.
I do not recall seeing an 'L', 'M', or 'H' indicator.

I do not believe the CT225 and the CT230 have them since the Kioti CK25/27/30 do not have them either. There is a different dash on the CK35 and CT235 which had the small cluster in the upper right corner.

This is a photo of the dash panel from my 2010 CT230. There are substantially less
unused warning lights, but still at least 6 or 7. I never opened this one up to
look at the back of the circuit board.

I have a 2014 Kioti CK 35 and am trying to figure out why my dash lights don't come on. For example the 4wd indicator lamp and the diff lock lamp. I plan to tear into it soon. Any ideas?

In the back of the panel (post#15), you can see that each bulb goes to a contact on the connector. The
connector itself has no wire in it for the unused lights. Add your own wire to the connector, or scape
off some paint and solder directly to the PC board. Carefully.

My CT 225 also does not light up for four-wheel-drive or differential lock.
