cub cadet 2072 owner knowledge

Hey folks
I am curious about the 2072 model . Any one want to share their pros and cons .
My neighbor may be selling his and curious about these tractors . His has under 1000 hours and has a 50" deck .Seems like a decent tractor serviced regularly and 2 owners .

I ran the daylights out of mine for over a decade,, the only issue is the driveshaft will need some service.
THAT can get into the hundreds for repairs,, and updating to a newer CV type driveshaft is the "fix" that is best.

Other than that,, mine was bulletproof,,

What type of repairs to the drive shaft ?? Is the CV shaft replacement easy to find ?

I have had a 2185 for decades. I have the wsm for 2000 series tractors.

I cannot figure out what shaft would need a CV joint. Simple straight shaft from horizontal Kohler to hydrostatic transmission.
Can you please clarify.

When the 2072 flex joint fails,, and takes out the hydraulic lines,, the CV driveshaft will look cheap,,,

Kinda looks like this,,,

I think this is an Onan engine,, the Kohler is simpler to do,,,

The 2185 already has the CV driveshaft!!

Without the type of joint found on front wheel drive vehicles and also on the pto shafts of 3 to 400 HP farm tractors, to permit high operating angles, I would not have thought of the Cubs shaft in the same way. Does the parts description use the "CV" label?
