Cub Cadet 2145 PTO Problem

Hi. I am having a problem with my old but well cared for 2145. Last year I replace the PTO pull and had no problems. This year though is another story. Every so often when I engage the pto it starts spinning but not at top speed, so the blades do not turn fast enough to cut the grass.

I checked all the pulleys, including the ones on the cutting deck and everything appears fine there. the electrical connection appears good. If The pto does turn at full speed and I shut it off, I can't get it to engage again.

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a similar problem I had with my 2185, it was an ignition coil issue.
