I have heard from time to time about people rebuilding the k-series engines and eliminating the balance gears. Any one have any information on this. What would be the result of this action? I have a 301 with really sloppy and noisy bal. gears. Appreciate any feedback, Thanks

Remove them and go on.

The old gear drive cubs had balance gears to cut down on vibration because the engine is solid mounted to the frame. a lot of the hydrostats had engines that were mounted on rubber bushings and no balance gears.

Art, Thanks for your reply. The gears are gone and a rubber mount will be used instead Thanks again
