Looking for opinions of the Electronic Fuel Injection option for the Cub Cadet XT1 lawn tractors.

Seems that the EFI option adds about $300-$350 to the price.

I can see advantages to this . . . but is it really worth an extra $300?

Thanks

Martin

Ask the dealership you will be expecting to repair it if it breaks. My folks said they were hesitant to recommend anything that had only been in use for a couple years, but yours may have a different opinion.

We used to have a JD 425 carbureted Kawasaki never missed a beat. Sold it and bought a JD X720 with EFI Kawasaki and it's been a thorn in my side ever since. Spitting and sputtering and sucking down gasoline like Coca-Cola.

EFI starts better, and supposedly uses less gas. EFI is used in most vehicles these days. Even a lot of diesel tractors are EFI, like my Mahindra 2555 HST. I am sure there are bugs to work out, but they have been around several years now. But you would have to run a lot of hours to make up for the price difference. Just like a diesel truck. I just bought a Cub Cadet with a EFI Kohler 27hp. So, I will be out there with you purring around finding out......

Mine is an XT2, so, I think twin vs. single, but the EFI is the same.
It is very simple, and I love it. I couldn't keep my push mowers running with todays crap gas so I made EFI a priority. Almost everything I have is EFI or battery powered.

The only singles made by Cub Cadet anymore are the push mowers. The XT1,2,3 are all twins.

Must be new this year. Last year I had to step up to XT2 to get the twin. Either way; it is a good system.

Just think about this, nearly half the moving parts to fail!
