I will throw my 2 cents in. I think you have it in the right place with the fuel system.
First off as you know do assume anything [filter, pump' etc].
My brother had a problem with his fuel pump [mechanical] Do you have a mechanical fuel pump???????
A mechanical fuel pump will have i fuel hose going in and 2 coming out. If inside this unit you have a pin hole the system it will not work properly. This unit was worn out on my brothers.
My brother did have a piece of ice in his carb, you really should take your carb apart or have someone do it and clean it out.
Not a likely problem but if you have a piece of hose that has worn down on the inside it will release small bits of rubber which can clog you carb. Like i say not a likely problem.
When you get it going throw some gas line antifreeze in the tank it won't hurt. BUT will most likely not solve your problem.
Good Luck.
