Well I got all my parts to do my alternator swap and heater install. As well as put in the block heater. I read the PDF on Kubotabooks.com on how to install the alt. upgrade kit, and just ordered the parts I thought I would need, as the kit is now listed at $385 and more at some sites. So I got an ant. on line for $75 and ordered a factory wiring harness, relay, fuse, belt and mounting bracket. Those parts came to $98. The wiring harness came with the fuse, so I didn't need it. There are a few steps that I didn't need to do that were in the write up. I didn't need to remove the muffler, plenty of room to work while it is in there. And I didn't take off the steering wheel, again no need to. Took about an hour to install and everything works great. I then tackled the cab heater and block heater. The block heater is a no brainer, just unscrew the plug and screw in the block heater. Just used some tape sealer in the threads and used a socket to tighten it up. The Heater was more of a project. Since I got the cab used, I didn't get the heater hook ups at the motor, as they left them on the tractor the cab came from, and just blocked them off. The top port is just a 3/8" NPT thread into the thermostat housing, so a 3' pipe nipple worked there. The bottom hose goes into the bottom radiator hose. So I got a 1' copper "T" with 1/2" coming out. and soldered a 90 onto it for the hose to hook up to. I had to cut the bottom hose in the middle and test fit before soldering up to get the angle right. I think it is better than what I would have been supplied with from Curtis. Boy does that little heater really throw out the BTU's! It was in the 50's yesterday and the heat would have cooked you if on high! It will really be nice this winter when the wind is wiping and the temps are around 0!
