Same - I used the snap traps and peanut butter. Works well and is the most humane in my opinion. Also would be very upset if one of my dogs found a poison or poisoned mouse and died of it.

The real decon dehyrated them, no sstink to speak of, slight musty odor, just enough to tell it is a mouse, and gone in a day.

I was always told that mice seek out a water source after eating d-con. I have used it for years and can’t say I have ever smelled dead mice, I always assumed they leave to find water before they parish. Or at the least crawl down to an area like a crawl space where they won’t be smelled.
