D03 or D05 subplate and valve - Murphy proofing my 3rd function

To Clarify what I did was purchase the surplus center valve and d03 manifold.

After looking at the subplate I was able to open up all 4 of the vert ports connecting to the valve quite a bit just went slightly smaller than the inside diameter of the valve o-rings, forget the exact size but believe it was 5/16dia.
Then I also drilled out the center of the hoz external ports to the vert holes that line up with the valve. Once that was as big as I could go I used a die grinder with round burr to smooth the transition between the horizontal and vertical ports. I ran my backhoe a lot this summer through my rear ports, all the fluid travels t-p through the third function valve and did not notice any increased heat build up, actually think it went down with my steel line and aluminum block acting like a radiator. I don't think I am even coming close to pushing the flow rate of the d03 plate and valve.

This may all be for naught. I cant find a D05 valve that will take the T port back pressure of 3000 or more when the 3pt is used. Even the one sold in some of the kits is only rated for 2030 from what I know. ARGO-HYTOS A strong brand in fluid technology | ARGO-HYTOS may make one like the surplus center folks sell except in the D05 size.

Ill haft to call tomorrow when everyone is open.

Yes I am nuts :confused3::confused2::shocked: but doing research is fun for me. :mur:

I wish I could do that but I don't have the tools - besides it would take me three try's. I wonder if Magnaloy could do something along the same line. Ill haft to call.

I used a Bridgeport mill, but a decent drill press and vice would work.

Want one, but don have it yet. I sent Magnaloy and email they make a high flow D05 plate. I asked if they can make a high flow D03 plate for the valve you used that will work for me.

Tomorrow is another day - to kill the time I can always go back to pealing 200 tomatoes :D

OK folks I found a D05 valve that will work. This is for information as I dont know if this is the way to go yet or not. Lots of good advice out there'
First link is their entire line.
Directional Control Valves | ARGO-HYTOS
Surplus Center sells this D03 one mad by them. 12 Volt DC 21 GPM Argo RPE3-6 DA Hydraulic DO3 Solenoid Valve | Solenoid Valves | Hydraulic Valves | Hydraulics | www.surpluscenter.com
The valve I have found with T port pressure rating of 3050
RPE4-1 | 4/2 and 4/3 Directional Control Valve, Solenoid Operated | ARGO-HYTOS
and the data sheet
http://www.argo-hytos.com/fileadmin/user_upload/Datasheet_RPE4-10_ha4039_EN.pdf

I talked with their Ohio HQ and the engineer gave me the following model number for a D05 tandem center P-T open A-B blocked when not in use.
RPE4-103C11 / 01200E1 12 volt with Din connector
So folks know these folks are the only source I have found for a D05 that has a T port pressure rating above 3000psi - the rest seem to be 2030 psi.

Still thinking - any thoughts?

Still need to model it in foam to see if it will fit.

Rexroth 4WE 10 G *** D05 valves are rated to 3,050 PSI tank. Doubt that you will find much Rexroth stuff at surplus stores though.

Well it is a good thing I mocked up the valve body "IT WONT FIT"
So I took a few pictures of what I found after pulling the seat. I even tried a smaller valve on the D03 subplate - still no go from what I am seeing. It appears Bobcat had a better idea on the plumbing - NOT!!!!!! So there is a difference between the Kioti and Bobcat on wiring and pluming.

1019171318.jpg Oil filter in the way of where jabelding mounted his.

1019171318a.jpg Wiring harness is in the way. I can possible move this, but there appear to be a clearance problem in the new location, rubbing on the PTO linkage lever.

1019171319.jpg return to tank plumbing is in front of mounting area that ND2Fire used, I can possibly get above this, but it will be tight.

1019171319a.jpg The port to the 3pt and rear remotes is in a tighter location with the filter being there, rear remotes will make hose running problematic.

1019171319b.jpg Picture of the return to tank fitting in front of mounting area. The top of the bolt is approximately 3/4" above mounting plate area used by ND2Fire

1019171321.jpg So I checked the area where the WR Long kit goes. They mount to the left of the trans fill tube back and above the lift arms. Assuming a typical valve and D03 plate it might fit, but hose running and the 3pt arms have me very concerned with protection.

1019171321a.jpg Close up of the existing fitting to the 3 pt and rear remotes. Would be very tight to get hoses and fittings in there to the D03 valve body which would mount to the Rt.

1019171321b.jpg The filter housing and the 3pt port fitting is very close. I might have 1/2 inch to work with after changing out the 3pt fitting and bring the line for the loader valve in.

Maybe I am missing something - Though

The valve that jabelding used is the smallest I've seen. If that helps any.

I think (but I'm not positive) that it is a spring centered valve which should allow for vertical operation. Not all allow that.

My neighbor dropped in as he saw me struggling to get the seat back in place. We chatted at what I was trying to do and I think he solved my problem. With a thicker mounting plate (or one spaced up a bit) I can get above the bolt on the return to tank fitting. This gives me enough length to use the valve jabelding used, as I do have the vertical room. He then suggested I look at the fittings dimensions. He discovered I had used the D05 base plates dimensions verses the D03 size which gives me more room. So there is hope yet. Its good to get a second set of eyes and hands getting the seat back in and yes I had it in two pieces. He also figured out a hose routing I had not thought about. More to think about. So there is light at the end of the tunnel - I just hope it is not the train
