I e-mailed the Danuser company for information on augers and said that I had bought a used F-8. The next day I got an e-mail from Glenn Danuser asking me if I got an owners manual with the digger and if I didn't, e-mail the serial number to him and he would send one and the information on the augers at no cost. Now that is customer service!!!

Sounds to me it's a company that stands behind it's product and also promotes safety---thats my kind of company. I can't wait to get the information so I can go and get some prices on augers. Hope my pockets are deep enough/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yep. No doubt about it, Gordon - they're an excellent company. Their stuff isn't cheap, either in price or in quality. Even though they're pretty expensive, they're still one of the few companies I think still gives you your money's worth.

Not too long ago, I got a bunch of their click pins, and I really like them. I immediately threw away almost all of that 'Made in India' garbage I had before.

Guess I'll have to look into the click pins as well. So far I'm very impressed with the company. It's smart for them to promote safety==more healthy users===more product sold. Doesn't take much to figure that one out. Also on one of the fence websites there was an article about safety as well. I don't want to make any mistakes with this digger. I've only dug a few holes with it just messing around in the backyard and I'm already kicking myself in the rear for not getting a digger a long time ago. The main reason I bought it was to do some fence work for a couple of horse farms close to the house. If this works out I'm going to look into getting a postdriver but thats down the road. First things first I've got to make some money with this first!!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif It it doesn't make me some money there is no sense in having it.

Gordon,
...not too sure about that philosophy... I've got something I've had an awful lot of fun with, that never made me any money!

Kevin, to the best of my knowledge no one has figured out how to use a quick hitch with the post hole digger because you completely remove your top link from the tractor and attach the digger boom to the tractor in its place. Surely someone will figure out a way eventually (if they haven't already and I just don't know about it yet).

That's exactly how I hook mine up, by disconnecting the pin at the gear-head.
Hey, anyone ever try and straighten out a bent 12" inch auger bit? Love to hear some ideas.
Thanks,
George (Massey Ferguson 135 project)

(I take my PHD all apart because I don't want to hurt my back, and I keep it in a corner of the shop. But I don't use it very often, either.)
