Whoo hooooooo /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Found the problem.
After crawling underneith to clean out fuel tank
After crawling underneith to clean out sediment bowl
After cleaning tank out
After rinsing tank
After taking entire dash & stearing wheel cowling off to remove/replace fuel sending switch ( I LOVE knowing how much fuel I now have /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif )
It still died /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
So, follow the trail. I took a fuel line off the "out" side of the fuel filter, little flowing out. I took the main supply line off the IN side of the fileter, little flowing out.
I took the pressure side off the transfer pump, fuel blurped out. HA... I have some obstruction in the fuel line between pump and filter. An hour later after disassembling the line and other brackets so I can take the bent, formed line out without destroying it.. I blow into it.
No obstructions, it's as clean as a whistle. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Put it all back together... get to wondering again.
I take the pressure side of fuel pump reinstall it, turn over again, no fuel. I take line back off pump, fuel blurps out. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif Now I'm getting ideas.. I stick my finger over the outlet and wala... no fuel pressure. Seems the internals of my transfer pump, transferred to Pump Heaven.
It's rebuildable, so i disassembled it and parts fell out. My oh my, what goes where?
I stare at it for 30 minutes, rolling the parts over in my fingers, tinkering.. then the flash hits me, this goes, here, that goes there... this other part? dunno, I guess it will be an extra part left over /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Put back together and fired right up, runs like a top.
What sealed the deal... WAY up above, I made comment that I had air bubbles coming out the fuel return line back to tank from my injector rail... NOW I don't have bubbles, it's solid. Now I understand that while idling, I evidntly have a lot more fuel returning back to tank unused, and when the pump was hardly pumping, it was just burping out little bits of fuel, making it look like bubbles.
Ahh... life is wonderful
By the way, the headlight is fixed in car too /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Next time Brutus dies, I'll simply leave it and go get new transfer pump.
Thanks for all the ideas & help.
