Dealer sold me a light duty scraper blade

And the wider blade when used just as counter weight, may help a bit being it will weigh more, but it is still too light for a counterweight and will hang up just that much easier in tight quarters. People always say, don't waste your money on a ballast box, get an implement hung on the back of the 3pt, OK, I have to wonder if they have ever used a ballast box on the 3pt. As it is much much better from a weight standpoint and a tight quarters standpoint. I guess they work out in open fields. I work in the woods. Each persons opinion is driven by their experiences.

His tractor is 55" wide (Maybe wider with R4s). A 60" blade angled would not cover his tire tracks.

Maybe his dealer has a phone and a number to Kubota (Who does the financing) just like all other franchised Kubota dealers and will trade the lighter smaller blade to a heavier larger blade with the buyer paying the difference in cash and dealer can tell Kubota contact to change that serial number on that blade which will tell them the model of the blade and all will be happy or should be. The dealer can train sells people to sell better suited more profitable equipment and maybe keep a customer for lifetime service and parts. It's no big deal for a dealer to talk to their reps at Kubota, my dealer does it all the time when I deal with him and then he prints out the sales contract for Kubota's tractor and probably his implements and I sign them and go home and wait on them to pick up trade in and drop off my new purchase. Kubota is a big Company but they have this sales stuff worked out, not a bunch of mindless machines, real people that talk to each other.

Often dealers will sell packages with an attractive price. But you are getting the weaker loader, and lighter implements, as the OP has learned. One dealer up here was even adding a 16 foot trailer for a nice package... while it will work, even I know that is way to short for a tractor/loader/mower.

Legally, the mower can hang 2' over the stern of that 16' trailer.

I built a Quick Hitch compatible rack to store 1,500lbs of suitcase weights. Works great as a ballast box and is compact. But my go-to is my heavy box blade. In tight quarters it gets a bit bulky but sure is handy when cleaning up an area and serves as ballast.

Yep, I agree.

Did you get the Kubota insurance? If so I believe it will cover attachments that are financed with the tractor. I would look into it. If nothing else if you bend it you are out the $250 deductible. OTOH I would think KTAC might not be too happy with a dealer financing an attachment that's not recommended for the tractor. Most likely the dealer will take it back. They may say you need to put the cash towards the loan leaving you to buy the new blade with cash or finance with a new loan just for it. If they don't and KTAC will cover it if damaged I'd be working it hard to see if it was up to the task knowing that if it wasn't I would be getting what I wanted.

Unless he snags a stump, I would less concerned that the lighter blade will bend. I would more concerned that it hops instead of digs due to its lighter weight.

Wrong plow width right from the start. Maybe they have a bunch of the short ones to get rid of.....ordered by the salesman?
