Dealer Dealers in MD

I am in Northern Anne Arundel County and Frederick is a ways away but for a good dealer it is worth it.
Just to complicate things further, I have no knowledge of Frederick Tractor, but have had very good experience with Elliott, in Easton. About the same distance in the other direction.

Hi there,

Could not help but chime in. I am also in AA county, in Crownsville to be exact and for my purchase of B2410 I went with Byrd Tractor of Manassas. I did not contact the folks in Fredrick or Gaithersburg, although I have heard that they are extremely helpful. But Precision whatever is not what I would call a top class dealership.

I actually was surprised that except for the Deere dealer in Annapolis there was no Kubota dealer close by either. Looks like a business opportunity to me.

Regards.

I second Byrd Tractor in Manassas, VA. And they have a BX22 on the lot, ready to deliver. Plus, if you call Jeremy and tell them you're off Tractor By Net, you may get a reduced or no delivery charge. And to sweeten the pot, they are not going to collect Maryland Sales Tax on the sale (How you elect to pay or not pay to the Gov. of your fine state is your business).

$ 16,500 with 60" midmount mower and toothbar.

This might be to far away for you to consider but there is a very nice dealer in Delaware for Kubotas. It's Burke Equipment Camden DE. Phone # is 302.697.3200 Ask for Mark he owns the business and is very good to deal with. Might be worth a call to get a price. Camden is just a few miles south of Dover. They have two other stores one in northern DE and one in southern DE. Sales tax might come into play into total pricing as well.

Here is a link to their website http://www.burkeequipment.com/

I always wanted to stop at those stores when I am driving by but never the time or it is usually when they are not open... glad to know they are good people.

Crazy as it sounds, it would be easier for me to haul my tractor and drop it off there for service when I go up to NJ. Thanks for the heads up.

Gordon,

Greetings from a fellow Delawarean. Just a quick comment on Burke's: I am shopping across all brands right now and have been by Burke's in Camden on several little information gathering/quote gathering efforts. They are good people, as you mention and they are trying to expand Southward into Seaford. While they are easy to work with I found that their general pricing is a bit higher than other regional dealers and not quite as competitve against JD dealers in the area. I think they are the only Kubota dealer in Delaware and there isn't much pushing them to be competitive other than this cross-brand competition. For example, I got a quote from Burke on a B7500 that was almost $1,000 higher than Carver's, including delivery. To be fair, I'll certainly give them a chance to sharpen their pencils if that's the way I decide to go.

It's just a typical supply/demand issue and I don't blame them. I have heard that they run a customer oriented business though, just like you said. I will spend a little more time with them before I decide to buy green again.

Have a good weekend.

STAY AWAY FROM BACKYARD POWER !!!!!!

My B2150 came from them and I also bought a FEL later. That experience wasn't too bad... BUT, Bill Richardson owned it then. (It used to be called "Richardson's) But when he sold it, some real A-hole bought it. I sent my B2150 to them a couple of times for service. 7 weeks later I got it back (very simple service.) They stole the keys from the tractor, damaged my driveweay when they returned it, and did not perform the service I needed to be done. I tried for WEEKS to get the owner on the phone. He does NOT return phone calls. When I caught him by accident, he was extremely rude and refused to repair my driveway.

Try your luck with Frederick Kubota or Hickory International in Hickory (North of Belair). I've better luck with them.

Good Luck.

No, there is at least one other Kabota dealer in DE that I know of, its Hoobers equipment. Hoobers is actually much larger and is just across the MD/DE line going towards Middletown.
Its been my experience that you can get a good deal at Hoobers but you really have to work at the sales guys for a good price... not fun.

I live on the upper Eastern Shore and bought my 3010 from Burke. They were extremely helpful and very easy to negotiate with. I simply told them my Carver quote and they matched it, no haggling, no tax and no surprises. They also delivered the tractor 70 miles for free.

Just an update. I contacted Mike at Frederick Equipment and was more than happy with the service. Mike didn't have a BX22 (he had just sold the last one that morning) but he showed me a BX2200 and I test drove it. I never felt pressured and was very comfortable asking what many may consider as dumb questions. To top it off Mike beat Backyard Power's price by over $600. My delivery date for the BX22 is this Friday -- I can't wait.

Thanks to everyone who posted their suggestions and information all of it was much appreciated.

nnicklas,
I'm in the market for the same tractor, if you don't mind me asking, how much did Frederick Equipment sell the tractor for?
