Here is another thought, I think... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

While the price is the same, you are not comparing apples and apples. Opps! I mean oranges to oranges... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hard to say which to buy really. All depends on you. The Kioti is a larger tractor than the B7610. May even be larger than my B2910 Kubota!

Take another test drive, and follow your gut. That is what I would do.

While I personally give the HST very high marks, there was life before HST and there will be gear life for a long time to come, so I would not let the HST/gear thing be the deciding factor, unless you feel it is important to you.

I will say that I have come to believe on my hills [really should be hill, only 3.7 acres] that the HST feels safer to me, as I can go slow/reverse/stop and always have a postitive connection to the engine.

Good luck in your decision. And wear some gloves so those hands don't slip on the steering wheel... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you'll post your actual pricing (breaking out the options), I'm sure we can maybe help you some more. You have to remember to compare apples to apples. I'm not sure how you are comparing price difference between Kubota and Kioti until they are as closely optioned as possible.
Ditto what Bob typed, HST,HST,HST.

Hi
Do you think a dealer will give the same service to someone that didn't buy a tractor from the dealer? I bought a used tractor and now I'm wondering what kind of servive I will get If I ever need dealer service work. I bought a ford with about 300 hours on it

Well unless you like to do all the maintance of the tractor and can do other repairs having that great dealer in your back pocket is a big plus. When you are at the dealer check out the whole dealer....the parts dept....the service dept. When I bought my tractor I was very impressed with the way I was handled sales wise....but now I a bit concerned of the rest of the dealer. But I do have two other very good Kubota dealers in the area so I am not concerned but it would have been nice to stick with the same dealer. My tractor is the HST tranny and I love it. I was used to gear but boy that HST is great. Easy, smooth, quiet, very comfortalble to operate, safer in my oppinion on hilly ground and tight areas, and it leaves a hand free to leave on the controls that count, like the FEL and steering wheel. Have fun and keep us posted. We all love to spend other peoples mnoney!

Charlie . . . it depends on the dealer as to how they provide you service. Warrenty service is not a money maker for dealers so they may push someone to the bottom of the list behind customers who bought from the dealer (and some dealers don't do that), but regular service is a way for the dealer to make some money and to earn a long term customer. If you have a good dealer, he will treat you right and he will earn your business.

( has Hydrostat transmission, live PTO )

$390 more for hydrostat and live PTO. As far as I'm concerned either one alone would be worth twice that.

Bird

The live PTO is worth something but only brush hogging is listed as a PTO task. Does the Kioti truly not have live PTO or does it have live PTO but not an independent clutch? The Kioti is "twice as heavy" and has 700 lb more lift capacity. This would make it a no brainier for me in the direction of the Kioti. What is the lift capacity of the Kubota? He mentions that 60% of his work is loader work. Not to put down HST, but there really is no problem with using a loader on a manual trans. I definitely vote for the Kioti.

Thanks for your comments, I agree about dealers. I'll always have some equipment on the back of the tractor when operating the FEL.

Andy, do you feel the same if the service area is a dirt floor shop, staffed by 2 mexicans, not mechanically certified as far as I know?
