Deck drive shaft

Rebuilt the gearbox on neighbors Kubota bx1800. Now the drive shaft won't slide on gearbox shaft. Anyone else have this problem?

Are you sure there are no burs or rust/gunk as the tolerances can sometimes be very small between the splines?

I’m going by memory but the driveshaft has a special slot that has to line up to slide on. It will only go on one way.

Yes, it's a keyed driveshaft.

I just rebuilt mine with new seals a few weeks ago.
