Hello All,
I'm a little late posting here, but I need to add a few things with this post. Please be patient with me.
Although I did not personally respond to this incident (traveling with family), my fire department assisted at the scene of the shooting. (We also assisted at the scene of the daughter's incident.)
These two incidents have absolutley devasted the town of Readsboo, VT and surroundinig Deerfield Valley. (Mount Snow region of southern Vermont.)
Without going onto much discussion, I have to say that the father was still fighting with his daughter's passing.
On a side note, the Deerfield Valley has suffered am alarmingly high number of suicides in tha past few years. I wish I knew why, but I won't speculate.
Hunting is a very popular activity in this rural area of southern Vermont. Rarely do we have accidents in the area. All involved in this tragedy were "very experienced". I won't speculate as to "alcohol involvement".
I'm not a religious person, but I do have the families of all invovled (hunter, and emergency responders) in my daily thoughts. And I ask that other readers of this post do as well.
Thanks for letting me "vent".
