Deteriorating Filler Cup TC34

VERY weird stuff going on... I just looked at my TC34DA and all is good. I wonder if there was a bad batch that went out on your guys' tractors? Could a different grade of Diesel spilled on the rubber cup cause damage? Really odd!

Interesting point.

Everyone with a deteriorating cup. chime in on what diesel and adds you use.

for instance.. on road / off road, and what general sulfur level.

Any adds you put in as well.

My cup is not rotting. Mine is a 2002 7610s.

I use on-road low sulfur diesel, and power service white bottle.

My 2006 TC33DA has 22 hours and the cup is deteriorating. I use on-road diesel from BP Amoco but I don't have any idea about sulfur content.

Soundguy;
I'm curious, do you use the on road ULSD because of availability?
Here in Lousy-ana, it's more expensive, and (in my opinion), not as good. While Big Brother considers sulfur an evil pollutant, it is also a lubricant.
I try to use the "off road" stuff; if I do use the ULSD, I'll add Penzoil or Citgo two stroke oil. Whether ULSD & "two smoke" oil, or the sulfur diesel, I don't think my TC33DA using approx. 5 gallons a week will lead Mother Earth to an early demise.
Only other additives I use are the gray bottled Power Serve, and Lucas.

Any on-road diesel legally sold in the U.S.A. since Jan. 2007 (I think the date is correct) has to be the Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel - ULSD.
There should be a green or yellow tag on the fuel pump stating that.

Yep.. availability. i have 2 places i can get off road fuel, one is the north side of town ( 40 minute drive ) and they don't like selling to pickup trucks with a couple 5g cans in the back ( though will.. if pressed ). Or I can buy fuel off the GC i work for and get it right out of the fuel truck if i drive out to a jobsite. That way would for sure be cheaper.. but then i have got to run one of our fuel trucks down, and then it's always a hassle to get a few bucks deducted out of my check.. etc.

As far as sulfur goes.. i had always heard that it itself wasn't the lube.. but that removing the sulfur lso removed the lube?? In any case.. i use the power service white bottle, and add it to my fuel/tank as I consume it. Pretty much, If I start either of my tractors.. I'm committed to using about 5g in the next 2-3 hours..

That may be.. however.. many pumps here in florida still hav ethe LSD green tags on them stating that it is illegal to use the fuel in model 2007 and later vehicles. Not sure if they just havn't put the new ULSD tags on yet.. or if they are actually still selling LSD??? In any case.. i have a station about 4 miles from my house that I fill up at on the way home.. or can drive the tractor to it as it is only about 1/4 mile from my pasture that i go mow.. and can hit it after mowing, on the way home.

I may have given out false info on this-
The Low Sulfur Diesel (LSD) may still available legally, I'm not sure, and have to leave to help a neighbor, will try to find out when I return.
My apology for speaking before I researched.

I'm ready for my third filler cup. The second one lasted about 2 months before splitting. I have yet to spill diesel on the cups (yep, jinxed myself there) and the tractor sits inside when not in use. I've gotta subscribe to the "bad batch" theory - hope to talk NH out of another one and hope it lasts awhile.
