Has anyone else made a complaint to the Dealer?
You said your dealer has several other tractors on the lot with the same problem. I think they should replace all of those and maybe CNH would start to see a trend.

I checked mine the other day and it is split almost in two. I called the dealer and asked what they were gonna do about it and he said to bring the old one up and the time on the tractor (30 hrs) and they would give me a new one.

Ford850,
I agree but for some crazy reason there's no report of it at all according to CNH..

Dave1953,

They did the same for me 2 times --just make sure they are report it.
my new one is starting to show signs already.

Well, another story on the saga of the rubber gizmo around the filler cap. Mine was split when I bought it new. Finally got around to taking it back to the dealer for a new one (no cost). I asked him if they get a lot of them brought back and he said that I was the 1st one in his 2 yrs. at the parts desk. Mine gets no direct sunlight in the garage where it is stored so we will see what happens.

Dave,

Did the Dealer ask for the old one?
Mine did so I gave it to them and the response from CNH was it covered after they checked it out. my new replacement a couple weeks old is starting to tear in the same spot as the others.

so this will be a ongoing replacement for me.
There going to reimburse for the 3rd one

The cheap rubber theory continues...

I took my old one with me and they kept it. Mine seems to be made out of a good quality of rubber although looks can be decieving. I'm gonna keep the date I replaced it so I will let you know how long it last.

I've always wondered if should replace my cracked guard, but it sounds like I'll just end up with another failed one. BTW - no sun or diesel spills on it and it started cracking years ago. I think I'll just put a rag around the filler when fueling.

As I was topping off my TC33DA, yesterday, I noticed a large split on my cup, AGAIN!
Looked back, and I had posted a comment last year, 09/22/07 about replacing mine back then. This one will be #3 for my '04 model. As the teens would say; "THAT BLOWS!"

Mine's still good!
