Some people are getting the CGM as a wellness package, they have no diabetes. Imaging that using it as a preventive for diabetes, and for elite athletes.

"But, rather than the manufacturer's apps meant for use by people with diabetes, the wellness companies pair the sensors with their own specially designed apps, and typically offer additional services such as health coaching or nutrition counseling "to improve general health.""

You folks need to speak with your doc. You can get a CGM if you jump through some hoops but you do not need to be taking humulin. Again, speak with your health care advocate about it and get your a1c down.

I'm an expert of nothing :ROFLMAO: the nearest I come to that is the grooming of snow and the machines associated with that. ;) Nonetheless, I've been a type I since 1975 or abouts. I'm also married to one of those health care people.
My a1c's have always been reasonable good but when I got my first Continues Glucose Monitor around 5 years ago, for the first time ever I could actuality see what was happening with my blood glycogen, hence I could see what the bananas were doing my BG. After geting a CGM my next a1c had dropped into the normal range.

My wife is type 2 diabetic for over 30 years.
For last 15 yrs she takes 40cc insulin morning & night, not because her diabetes is worse but better than lots of pills.
Then she read about and tried Neems. It's an inexpensive plant based pill. The problem is her glucose level dropped so much twice I had to call 911. Normal is roughly around 100-110. Her level was 54 then 32! Both times she was incoherent, I tried giving her candy, etc...but she was spaced out.
Dr. had her go to 25cc insulin.
She's going to try small amounts of Neems and test blood sugar often, see what happens. She may be off insulin since Neems seems to be working.

they now have a drug for preventing Type 1 diabetes:

I guess if you have a genetic predisposition to Type 1, this makes sense.
I'm sure one less Crispy Creme will help too...

good to know about monitoring equipment, particularly if it helps you modify your lifestyle/diet for better health.

Never heard of this supplement but probably worth checking out.

Just ordered it. thanks. I also found ozempic coupon available online and going to order some of those medications too.
It is better for me to have them in stock instead of waiting for the delivery when i need them urgently.
No idea how people manage to control their blood sugar without it.

finally read the back of the Truvia packets I put in my coffee
Suitable for people with diabetes

as someone who does not like black coffee, this is most helpful

My wife also uses Stevia now because it's natural.
Here's something I find interesting. My family no one has or had diabetes on either side, not even aunts, uncles, cousins.
Wife has had diabetes (diagnosed type 2) for 25 years. Her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins type 2 diabetic. None obese, in fact an aunt anorexic (5'5", 89#). Her father was Cherokee, her mother English/Dutch. All diabetic but all drank DIET SODA. Also odd is my wife was adopted, Italian/Scandinavian descent. Her one uncle (mom's brother) recently passed 103 was only one not diabetic but also didn't drink diet soda.
I really believe since my family they don't drink diet soda either there's some correlation.
