We got around 1.5" in DFW but only .4" at the Red River (farm). Come on rain, I would like to get another cutting. A couple fields are nice and green but most are dry.

Well I got the tractor set up and put the baler monitor in the new one, gonna get one more cutting. 7040's side by side.JPGnew7040 tire change.JPGpulled the loader off for the first time, its was easy as heck to get off and on. I also hope I didnt make a mistake traded 20rolls for two 7mnth old heifers(one tiger stripe&one black baldie),I will have to cross fingers my last cutting will replace the 30 bales I wasnt going to get rid of but seems alot of folks need one or two and talk me out of it some how:D
I am almost caught up on shredding should be able to finish this weekend and have a few small jobs here and there,to make the new tractor pay fo itself...

This tread also lead me to get to thinking and I found this site : HayTalk キ Hay & Forage Community Forums - Homepage
Not trying to steer people from here (TBN) away, but found it interesting also one big Ole Haying site.

Well I going to bale my place in Leona in 2wks and the neighbor has gave me his 40ac.hay meadow but not going to bale all of it due to lots of goatweeds in places, gonna have to skip around but its free.
Now for the bad news blew a bearing out in main gearbox on my 33yrs old Terranking batwing, need new gearbox front housing and hasnt been an easy finding. Oh and my wifes college tuition had to paid,so my dang rat hole money just got alittle slimmer:D but I did find one Rhino SR-15M
Rhino SR-15M Rotary Cutter For Sale by Coufal-Prater Equipment, LTD, Taylor, Texas EquipmentLocator.com see what ya'll think....

That is a big cutter! wonder how the blades look? Not a bad price for 15' I would think and I bet they would be "flexible" some on the $$

I remember changing from a sickle cutter to a rotary (vermeer) loved it, laid the hay so purdy I hated to rake it:laughing: Little cutting blades seemed to last longer too, but it was a chore to sharpen them all, or replace.

Well that nice. Was that just yesterday? If so sure shows you got the needed moisture ... sure wish I had some to cut!! Those gopher mounds are tough on a set of blades. The only advise I've got is ... gopher plow!!!

I cut most of the 30+acres around the house friday and this was saturday finishing up some small spots. We got 10inches the other week and had some in forecast but I cut anyways and it missed us,now it wont cure out. This is the little pasture I put the SAE Minerals on,I am going to try it on some different spots next year.

You sure can hear it in cab when you hit one, keeps the windows dusty. I usually get my cuts straighten back out when I go around a tree but I figured for video just going straight wouldnt have been to good so just went with it,and my corners was going to slow to really hit the foot brake so again just went with it,also the wife had the dodge parked right in that corner. Well I just figured a short video would be something different than are usual pictures,I may try and get some video of baling tomorrow, will see if the wifes around.....

Yeah I like the net.wrap alot better, when im using string its just feels like forever now. I was saving what net I have left for the neighbors 20acres he asked if I would do it as a favor and he helps us out alot also with his D6 dozer so its not a big deal to help him out. I have one more place that were I have my heifers in dew,his brother-in-law just gave me his hay meadow (around20acres)said go ahead and cut and keep the hay,so I gladly accepted,he sold out and got one cutting off it early this year guess just dont wont to fool with anything anymore, works for me(I sprayed it while I was spraying my lease place and only charged him for chemical)...
I think I made the right choice going with the REBEL 5410,great baler and didnt cost me an arm and leg, more than pull its weight around here...
