Thanks guys and now a question .... why do we never leave the house without our boots? My wife bought me a set of those flip flops ... ever try walking in wet dew with those things?

I am always preaching "appropriate footwear" and they are very often in flip flops... must be my delivery...

Blue River and High Compression,

Here is a picture of the compromise! Not sure where you can get them, probably cost a pretty penny. But for the die-hards, cow-flops or flip-boots (take your pick on the name).

I personally wear my steel toed Redbacks everywhere. In the summer I wear them with shorts and pushed down tube socks (I am a fashion diva, {dripping with sarcasm})

My husband drew the line when I fell asleep in bed with them on, I don't listen to a lot of country music but I am pretty sure that would make for a good song.

Not the Cow-Flops...

Redbacks are the quiet cousin to another company called Bluntstone both Australian work boot companies, think Redwing to Timberland, both are great boots one is more well know due to popularity . You can get Blunies through most horse catalogs (although not normal steel toed). I love the tread, it is super thick and has a ton of traction.

Goat photos of me in some of my "nice" capris and Redbacks. The little girl had come out to see the farm and I was telling her what each animals "job" was. I told her these are pet boy goats, we just yell at the goats. They are to small to pull a cart, but you can ride them.

Now that I have derailed this post to a fashion thread, haha :)

Question: Do the guys buying urea, buy bulk? If so how do you store? How do you weigh (to know amount per acre)?

Bagged Urea photo.

I bought a ton of custom green up blend this spring and even that was bagged (50lbs).

Photo showing my fields vs another, the yellow one has no grass.

Its drying out quick with very little rain and the wind blowing 10 to 30mph everyday. I had to leave my tractor and sprayer at my lease place a month to wait on a day for it to lay enough to get it sprayed. We have some rain in forecast, heading to put out fertilizer today at another lease place, will see,I'll pray.

Did you get some of last nights rain? There is an inch and 3/10ths in my gauge this morning.

My wife is nuts over them ... I just gringe when she uses the push mower in flip flops ... she'll bring fuel to the field in flip flops and then wonder how to get around the stubble ... I've told her lately to just stay in the truck ... she won that one.

Must be a female thing...... caught my girlfriend this past weekend out on the tractor barefoot :confused2: She had her flip flops sitting right there also. When i asked her what she was doing she simply replied she didn't want tan line from the flip flop

For me, flip flops are for the pool and beach. Otherwise, appropriate footwear for the job at hand. In your instance, I would probably have had my Crocs on. Pretty comfy and easy on/off for just running around in. I won't go in the fields to work with them but if running around on 4 wheeler to lock/unlock front gate or just check on things. Plus they wash off easy

Looking forward to hearing about and seeing the results. And really looking forward to update on that new equipment being put to work.
