Its also thick with clover ... where did all the clover come from this year?

The guy I buy my hay from has a lot of clover in his field as well.

I'm going to buy some, and maybe try to broker some to other TBN folks who need hay... Hawk has a truck we can deliver with I believe...

Great thread!

Good Morning David ...how much is his hay? I've already had an interesting morning ... I'm irrigating 24 hrs a day. At 3:30 this morning I went to check on the gun and see if all was well. Foggy morning and with the headlights on the JD gator I couldn't find it (I knew the general area)... I shut off the gator to listen and sure enough over yonder a couple hundred feet ... now I'll paint a picture ... My hat on, t-shirt, boxer shorts and my boots ... next thing I'm soaking wet ... drove right into the path !!! Its 70 degrees this morning and I have no idea the water temp ... but I will tell you COLD!!!

Its drying out quick with very little rain and the wind blowing 10 to 30mph everyday. I had to leave my tractor and sprayer at my lease place a month to wait on a day for it to lay enough to get it sprayed. We have some rain in forecast, heading to put out fertilizer today at another lease place, will see,I'll pray.

Had good weather and put up 90 acres ... cut with 2 tractors and put up 296
4x5.5' round bales net wrapped ... its all sold right out of the field.

Didn't get many pictures ... too busy getting the hay done.

Also took 500 square bales off of 13 acres and 85 rounds off of another field. That stuff went into the barn.

Just as I feared its getting really dry ... the wind and high temps are pulling the moist right out ... I'm planning to start irrigating this week. If we don't get some rain soon ... liable to be right back to drought conditions.

I've got 40 acres that could be cut but I'm hoping that 60% chance of rain next weekend comes thru and that will help it a little more.

I'm jealous your quantities. I don't have near that much to hay. Wish I did. We generally don't cut till June here, but we might me a couple weeks early this year due to the crazy climate. Maybe we can get another cut this fall.

Thanks guys and now a question .... why do we never leave the house without our boots? My wife bought me a set of those flip flops ... ever try walking in wet dew with those things?

My wife bought me a pair as well. I can't walk in them period. I walk right out of them. I feel short bus special, but can't seem to get the hang of them. Guess I'll stick to my boots.
