Missouri Thunder,

You shopped around and didn't pay too much. Could you have saved a couple hundred more, doesn't matter.
What matters now is how you keep up your machine.
I bought a B2410 with a front end loader in 2001 for 13,800 .
I sold it in 2008 for 12,500 in two hours with a picture on Craig's List. (-1300 in 7 years)
That is where the name,Kubota and it's condition payed off.
Just keep your tractor under shelter and keep it nice.
Bill

Knight,
Wow ! That's incredible on the resale value of your Kubota and yes, that is why I too went with a Kubota. You aren't the first one to remind me about worrying if I paid to much after I already bought it. It was just a knee-jerk reaction on my part after I left the dealership. After reading all these replies, I'm confident I got a good deal and have no regrets. Thanks for your input.

two_bit_score,
You are absoutely right and I have. I pick her up next week and I'm still day dreaming about it. Thanks.

I have to assume that you came into the Army as an engineer. What do you remember about Waynesville/St Robert ? The locals tell me that during the 60's and 70's, Waynesville was the place where the Soldiers went for R&R and took their furloughs. They said lots of bars, nightclubs and prostitution ruled the town as that is what was demanded during those times. Any thruth to that ?

Anyhow, keep watching these message boards cause my missourithunder is going to make her debut very, very soon (lots of photos trust me). Take care.

Ah, Waynesville and St. Robert. And don't forget Newburg, Doolittle and Jerome. I parked my butt on barstools in those places while in grad school at UMR (1963-65).

flusher,
You're still a youngin (I was born your senior year of grad school lol). You'd be surprized to see your old alumni campus. The University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR) is now Missouri University of Science and Technology (MUS&T). I guess their nursing program wasn't paying the bills so they expanded. Rolla is still a nice little town and I'm sure you stayed off of I-44 and drove the backroads after a night in Newberg. I don't think they have a single traffic light in that town and don't get me started on Doolittle, population 275. Jerome is a pretty drive when you make your way to Devil's elbow. Now that's a small town. The locals tell me the only thing left besides a few homes are the post office and Devil's elbow Inn which used to be a biker's bar and man do they serve some of the best BBQ in South central Missouri. If you ever make it back this way drop me line and we'll go have some BBQ.

For three years, 1948-1951, my family and I lived in Iberia, 19 miles north of Waynesville on Highway 17. My dad was science professor at Iberia Junior College, long since gone now, which fed Missouri School of Mines at Rolla (now UMR). The only local hospital was at Waynesville, and I still fondly remember the Roubidoux river and its springs, just to the west side of Waynesville. Beautiful country, with Lake of the Ozarks 25 miles west, picniced there many times. Neighbor across the street worked at the fort. I still remember us picking up soldiers at the main gate on US66 and giving them a ride to St. Louis on a weekend.

How many of you have been to Duke and floated the big Piney?
I am friends with the owner of Wilderness Ridge Resort, it's right on the Piney and have some great memories from our floats.

It's great for smallmouth fishing...give it a go if you get a chance.

6thgpSF,
It makes sense now. 6th Group, Special Forces. Gotta lot of respect for you Infantryman. The 173rd ABN has been stationed in Vinchinza, Italy for as long as I can remember and they are on at least their 11th or 12th rotation to Iraq or Afghanistan. You'd be proud of your former unit.

GreenWannabe,
We've been to Iberia a gazillion times for the boys' little league baseball and football. I never would have guessed Iberia had a jr college. There is one 4-way traffic light in the entire town and that's it. Waynesville couldn't afford to operate their hospital or their airport so the fort renamed their airport and opened it up to the surrounding communities. Same with the base hospital. The fort truly continues to support the surrounding communities and that's good thing trust me.

Ridgewalker,
I didn't realize Duke was so close to FT Leonard Wood. We've done way too many float trips on the Big Piney but it's always been through the FLW or St Robert outfitters. We'll give Duke & Wilderness Ridge Resort a try this summer and see what the Big Piney looks like a little further south of us.

Powergod,
I'm not going to bad mouth the Kubota dealer in Steelville. He was just a $1000 more than Fritz implement in Monnett. I know Steelville is a lot closer to FT Wood but that thousand bucks I saved is going to buy me two more attachments; a 5' rear blade and a 3-pt polly salt/seed spreader. I'll still have some left over. If Mr Wade Grandstaff there in Steelville is willing to deal with you then I say buy from him. He was professional and courtious but he just wouldn't budge on his price with me. Hope this helps. What's a warrent offficer doing in Steelville anyway ? Are you in recruiting command ?

As many have stated, don't worry about the price after you bought it, just enjoy it. Last year, I bought what I thought was a 1998 Kubota B2100 HST for $8300. Some months later, I found out it was really a 1995. The 98 was easy to believe because it hardly had any scratches on it and I was a complete newbie. Not that I'm an expert now by any means, just a little more experienced than last year.
During that same time period, I saw bigger tractors for less, smaller tractors for more and everything in between. Am I happy with my purchase? YES!!!!! Thanks to this tractor, I learned about hydraulics, diesel engines and am learning to weld better because of various projects for the tractor. I no longer ache from digging and hauling and its a machine.
So don't worry about that cash, just keep tractoring and reading these message boards. The folks on TBN are very helpful and knowledgeable. Couldn't have done some of these projects without them.

powergod,
If you're looking for a Kubota and you read through this thread then you'll see I've done all the research for you. Fritz implement offered the best deal and my only recommendation would be to stay away from the Springfield dealer. That guy was litterally trying to scam an extra $5,000 from me. Good luck and post some photos of your new tractor.
