Diesel Fuel Additives?

Think about this...it would seem that GM expects fewer repairs by not adding additives, does it not? What other reason would they have for telling the end user not to use additives?

The reason why Stanadyne is allowed to be used is because it is a demulsifier. The DMax has a water separator and emulsifying additives, which almost all other additives are, reduce the effectiveness of it.

Now, IF you make it thru the warranty period AND you have no problems, WHY would you deviate from what got you those successful results?

Cetane rating is not a quality measure which some folks think. Basically it is a figure of merit that relates to the delay time between injection and compression ignition in the diesel engine's combustion process.

Essentially, more is better within practical limits.
