Diesel oil in gas engines

I could post links all day to prove this does occur but i'm not going too . All i can do is to warn others of this occurance . And people with LPG powered vehicles may ask their oil suppliers about LPG specific oil next time they change it , and maybe ask why there is such a thing available . And also think about if Sulfuric acid in the oil could have an affect on White metal and Copper .

Yup, there are LPG/natural gas engine specific oils on the market.:D :D

Go to almost any large natural gas compression facility and you may find them on site if gas powered drivers are being used.:D :D

Can you tell us the reason they make specific oil for these engines , it seems to be little known the damage the Sulfuric acid byproduct in the oil does to Babbit Alloy coatings .

I already knew that sulfuric acid wasn't good on yellow metals... that's why gl5 oils in an 8n tranny sump aren't good.

Some of the main differences between "normal" gas or diesel engine oil is that the majority of LPG/NG engine oil does not have VI (viscosity improver's). Some engines equipped with electrical governor actuators are not compatible with viscosity index improver polymers. This is because the crankcase oil lubricates these controls and precise control of those engines using electrical governor actuators cannot be provided if the engine oil uses VI improver polymers. LPG/NG engine oil is also a low ash oil which helps to reduce piston top land ring deposits. High ash oils used in an l.p. and natural gas engine when the fuel has a concentration of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) at 0.10% by volume or less can create deposit buildup which can lead to valve, combustion chamber and turbo damage over longer operating type. High ash oils in these types of engines can create deposits resulting in shorter engine life.
